My groin is still all jacked up despite my not really doing anything this week. It’s been about 3 weeks now [total] and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. It hurts when I cough/sneeze/laugh, etc… If it’s not better by next week I might bight the bullet and go see a doc. This is getting rididculous.
That sucks. I pulled my groin before my other injuries. I had a cold and every time I coughed it hurt like hell. It took me about 2-3 months before I was back on the court. I went to the doc and all he did was ask me if I wanted a prescription for physical therapy. Hopefully, yours is less severe. Good luck with it.
that really sucks man. I havent jumped in a while cause of my groin. I kinda tweaked it a couple weeks ago playing in an adult flag football league that I’m in. I’ve been foam rolling a lot and stretching/riding the bike to loosen things up but its still a little sore. It feels a lot better today so I might try some jumping and see whats up.

seems like everyone posting in the vert thread are a bunch of broke dicks lol.
Yeah man, it sucks balls. It gradually got a bit better throughout the week and despite the fact that I still felt weird,I played for about an hour tonight. Felt it pull a bit a few times but didn’t feel like I worsened it. Gonna stretch/foam roll before I crash tonight. Oh yeah, caught one lob dunk but it was nothing to right home about. Just felt good to jump and dunk.

Sam and Greg, do y’all do any mobility work? Been doing some rollover into v-sits, scorpions, hip flexer stretches and other stuff and I feel like it’s helped the groin. Read a quote by DeFranco the other day: What you do during your first 25 years you’ll pay for the rest of your life, or something like that.

nice vid man. Probably my favorite dunk video you’ve posted. I guess I’m just a sucker for the two handers (those two hand catches to one hand dunks were nice)

what effect is that when youre camera goes to that grey and red? Kinda like a thermal view but not? It looks tight
appreciate it dude, and ya i like the catch with two and slam with one’s the best, those are my fav dunks now… i love how they look

the thermal shit, i forget… i forget what effect i used to do that, i was just messing around with color modifcations so, no idea right now hahaha… sux, ill find it again though.

peace dude & thankS!!

how tall is that dude in the all black? His arms look crazy long.

I will be doing alot of that once I’m able. That quote is so true. Up to my 30th b-day I’ve had zero issues and played b-ball as much as 3 times a week, could bike 40 miles, and backpack up to 14 miles a day. I never even stretched outside of HS track and b-ball practice. Since turning 32, pulled groin, fucked up back, ACL, and my orthopedist is talking about something up with my hips. So you young ones out there, pay attention to your pre-hab.

Haha. It’s alright, just make sure you get a hot female physical therapist to nurse you back.

Good shit. You’re getting the 2 handed ones easy as hell in these videos.

thanks alot dude, ya they are getting so ez… want to land a reverse tomorrow.

peace

^^^ Based on the recent vids I think you got a reverse in the bag. Can you catch a 2-hand dunk without the lob? Before I pulled my goin [or whatever it is] I tried the catch with 2, cock it back with one you posted of the black dude doing and I coatracked the shit outta myself, haha. Catching with 2 and dunking with one is smooth, adding that lean is serious. Has that dude come back to your gym?

I squatted today and for the first time in over a week my legs felt good. after my leg workout I tried two standing verts and got the rim both times (barely)

If they keep feeling good I’ll try to get in some jumps thursday or friday.

I bet you got the reverse in the bag Adarqui

ya im close on the reverse two handers off lob, i havn’t included them because i want to actually land one, i’ve come close though… i want to try one tomorrow and make it, it seems i have to lob from the right side of the basket though, different than i normally do it… that’s how i’ve got pretty close to landing one.

that’s one of my goals tomorrow, some little 14 year old shit talker on youtube said he’d bow to me if i landed a reverse off lob so i plan on landing one lmao

as for dunking two without lob, possibly, dno, i do light dribble up dunks to warm up, one of my problems is, i don’t like to push the dribble ups because it wastes energies for my max effort lob jumps so… and i have more fun doing those, but, i might try one tomorrow dno, been thinking about that too… i’ve landed them before, have one on vid somewhere… but i’d like to land them harder ya.

damn lol sucks… ya man i love catching with two and slamming with one, i think it looks the best… something about it, need to land more of those.

nah havn’t seen him or heard from him… i’ve only heard from one kid i’ve ever included in a dunk vid… sucks, i’d like to keep in touch with some of these people and do some dunk sessions for fun, but, they never see the videos… computer illiterate or something… i give them my site and they can’t find the videos probably, that’s why i have the videos at the very top now, because they can’t find them… hehehe

ya that dude was serious, wonder who he was… honestly seemed like a football player to me.

peace

nice!! glad they are feeling better

ya man i’m very close, it’s a coordination issue… i can’t do a windmill motion in the air either, else i’d be windmilling too… dno i have dunk coordination issues… i get in the air and i just wanna throw the ball at the basket very hard lmao.

i definitely want to land a reverse off lob tho, two hander… i landed a soft one in my insomnia dunk mix, but it was too soft for me to care about it… need to really commit and get it down.

peace!

Ad, if you’re not comfortable with the reverse lob yet I’d recommend not going for height. Put the ball in front of the rim a few inches above it and work on timing and rim awareness. Once you get comfortable going for height will be easy, but if you’re not you’ll probably get hung. Trust me, haha. Good luck man, you got it.

hey man, ya dude even before you mentioned that, that’s how i’ve been approaching my tricks… when i approach them ‘relaxed’, i can try and pull shit off… when i amp up and go max, i get into this ‘rim crusher mode’ and i just go apeshit in the air, it’s so odd…

so ya, today i landed a SOLID reverse-thing during my warmup dunks… !!! i didn’t throw it down hard but it definitely goes in good.

unfortunately i didn’t go max today, 5 hours sleep with some accumulated sleep debt or something, i’m about to pass out right now… landed some good stuff though today but completely relaxed, no psyche ups.

ill drop some footage probably tomorrow, i’ll probably pass out very soon hah.

second reverse-thing i landed was alot weaker but still went in… i call them reverse-thing because i grab with two on a ‘180-ish turn’ and when im about to dunk it reverse with two hands, it seems i dunk it with one, so odd looking hah.

here’s some still frames from today, a few really nice ones considering i didn’t do one 100% max jump: http://www.adarq.org/forum/progress-journals-experimental-routines/adarq’s-journal/msg42271/#msg42271

my fav is the goal moving up as i’m jumping, hahah…

peace folks

^^^ Man, that’s just a comfort thing. You can get up high enough to catch clean 2-hand lob reverses, you can just tell it still feels awkward. You’ll be there in no time.

thanks man, and ya, i’m so uncomfortable trying tricks and stuff… got to keep practicing each session. i had one 2 hand lob reverse that really looked like a good one bit i missed it, it had both hands jamming the ball down, i need to try and not spin as much when i’m doing it, looks like im getting a bit too much spin… i should be able to hit some good spin dunks soon though, i naturally spin real good due to my plant, just got to fig out how to land those lob 180/360’s, prolly need to catch both hands in air then slam with one, i always try doing it one hand.

pc man

did some jumps today and they felt great! still dealing with/recovering from a weird back injury… will post a pic and a vid soon.

EDIT: Heres the video. Couple jumps that felt pretty good. Bodyweight is down to 207lbs… on the right track here just gotta get rid of these stupid little injuries

Good jumps. You’re looking more explosive on the takeoff than before. If you can get your hands on a volleyball or soccer ball at your gym, try and dunk it. It’ll feel super cool lol.

Thanks man. I feel a little more explosive now. My hip is feeling better it’d just this weird lower back thing going on now. Yeah I wish I had one. I was thinking I’d like to try one yesterday but my gym doesn’t have either of those. I actually think I might have a volleyball somewhere I’d just have to find it… Hmmmmm. If I can find it I’ll bring it with me and try to throw it down later at the gym
