Velocity Diet Results With Pics

I’m just finishing up my first transition week at the moment, so I only have one more week left before I officially finish the diet. In the 4-week strict portion of the diet I lost 15 lbs and 12 inches overall. I was motivated by Gustavo’s Physique Clinic so much that I had to do it. Thanks to Shugs too, for the high-value posts within his PC clinic also, and for formulating the V-Diet to begin with.

Too be honest, if it wasn’t for that big Biotest sale at the beginning of March, I don’t know if I would’ve ever gotten around to beginning. A full day-to-day log and journal is available for those that are interested in reading it, at my blog: http://www.phatko.com/velocity-diet/

Anyways, here are final results:

Arms (L/R): 14.75"/15"
Forearms (L/R): 12.5"/12.25"

Day 28:
Weight: 208 lbs (15 lbs total)
Neck: 16" (-0.5" total)

Torso: 36.75" (-3.5" total)
Belly: 37.25" (-4.25" total)

The Velocity Diet was one of the best things I ever did - both physically and psychologically. Life-changing experience. Cheers.

Great results. What are you next set of goals?

Thanks. My next goal is 190 lbs. I’m going to take a serious attempt at Thibaudeau’s Destroying Fat protocol for 6-weeks.

So, $ per results, what say you.

Excellent work.

But having said that, 190 pounds is darn small for someone your hight. You aren’t fat anymore. If I were you, I’d focus on adding some good weight.

Congratulations!

Welcome to the rest of your life-- eating clean, training hard, feeling good. Just because I’m curious, what was the biggest way in which the V-Diet was lifechanging?

Mind posting what your workout and cardio was like?

Great job Phatko! You kicked a lot of fat off your waist and it really shows Bro! That weight loss should help you out with the Thai boxing.

Remember, this is only the beginning. And you are off to a great damn start so far. Keep having a clean lifestyle eating habit and zero in on your ultimate physique goals. Again good job.

Thanks. I agree and definitely look forward to putting on quality mass once I’ve taken care of the remaining fat around the lower stomach and back. Believe me, there is still quite a bit of fat left to go, that’s why I say 190. Once I’m there, I’d like to maybe transition into Berardi’s Massive Eating program and slowly clean bulk. Maybe end up at 205’ish when it’s all said and done. Many light heavyweight fighters that are 6’1" are around 205.

I’m just not sure about what training program to do because I’ve pretty much been doing fat loss programs for the past 3-4 years. Any suggestions?

Thanks man. Hard to say which was the biggest way. In general I’d say it caused a major paradigm shift inside me.

Before the V-diet, I was beginning to have doubts whether I would ever achieve the level of leanness I wanted in this decade. During the diet itself, I learned a lot about my true character and literally had my self-image change as the weeks passed. I chose to submit to the plan strictly and decided to evaluate it afterwards and not criticize anything until I was done. I was actually skeptical that the diet would work for me. Since finishing it, I honestly feel like a new man, or perhaps just my true self.

Before the diet, on my ‘best’ behavior, I’d have at least weekly cheat meals, rationalize on skipping workouts based on how sore I felt, and demonstrate overall habits of laziness in many areas of my life. I probably needed the mental benefits of the V-diet just as much as the physical.

Since I’ve finished the strict portion of the diet, my philosophy towards food and training has completely changed. The new habit (or morning ritual) of 1hr cardio (NEPA) while reading a book, and most of the shake/supplement preparation habits have completely changed the ease and tone of my days. I’m a lot more optimistic.

The fortitude required of me during the V-diet has infected other areas of my life like work and education. I find I just get things done much more quickly and easily. Self-discipline and belief in myself (self-esteem) has improved my work ethic dramatically. I probably accomplished more tasks and goals in March than any month in recent memory. April looks like it will be even better. It’s amazing how much everything else has become energized.

I’m not even going to elaborate too much on the way the world has changed. How much more confidence I have going out in public, or to the gym, or in social outings. How much more differently I’m treating by strangers. The attention and affection from the opposite sex. How much I’ve become a source of motivation for my family and friends. How much greater my physical stamina has improved during training. It feels like a new life and a new world. The only trouble is staying truly humble through it all.

MON - 10x3 Routine - 80% 1RM - 45 sec rest between sets - db bench press, bulgarian squats, and one-arm rows (~45 mins total)
WED - Muay thai class 1hr - lactate/conditioning/tabata drills
FRI - 10x3 Routine - 80% 1RM - 45 sec rest between sets - standing db shoulder press, lunges, and lat-pulldowns (~45 mins total)

Cardio was 60 mins treadmill walk @ 3.3mph and 4deg incline every morning upon waking but not after taking 2 HOT-ROX and 3-5 BCAA tabs, and sometimes one scoop of whey isolate, beforehand.

Thanks Gus, it’s definitely helped with the Thai boxing. As you probably know, it’s amazing how much stamina you gain from dropping 15 lbs of fat. I will keep pushing on, and using the momentum I have now to accomplish all my goals that follow.

Btw- Love your physique clinic, I know I couldn’t have been the only person you inspired. Your latest progress pics are unreal. Can’t wait to see your final PC clinic shots. Cheers!

Hey Phatko I was curious: Did you get all your product from T-Nation? If you did, how much did it cost for all the shipping? Did you get your Hot-Rox from T-Nation as well? And how long did it take to get to your door? Sorry for all the questions. Just want to get this V-Diet going.

$89 for the shipping. Recently it’s been pretty much the same cost for either USPS or Fedex, with Fedex often coming in just a tad cheaper (for faster delivery no less.) With Fedex, you won’t have any problems getting the HOT-ROX Extreme into Canada. Trust me, I’ve ordered it on 4 different occasions. The key is Fedex.

Took 3 business days to arrive.

Here was my V-Diet order from Biotest. Mind you, the $0.00 price tag on the Vanilla Metabolic Drive (and 1 BCAA) was because of the Biotest sale at the time, so add approx $130 to that price and it’ll be accurate for normal prices. Shipping wouldn’t have changed.

BCAA, BRANCHED-CHAIN AMINO ACIDS, 250 tablets $27.99 2 $55.98
BCAA $0.00 1 $0.00
HOT-ROX® Extreme, 110 Capsules $41.99 1 $41.99
Metabolic Drive® Low-Carb, Banana Cream $29.99 3 $89.97
Metabolic Drive® Low-Carb, Milk Chocolate $29.99 3 $89.97
Metabolic Drive® Low-Carb, Strawberry $29.99 3 $89.97
Metabolic Drive Van $0.00 3 $0.00
Surge Recovery? - Original Flavor- 16 servings $29.99 1 $29.99
Subtotal $397.87
Shipping $89.00
Sales Tax $0.00
Total $486.87

Hope that helps. All the best with your V-Diet!

Hey Phatko. Thanks for the help there. I found someone up here to get the HOT-ROX from. But the order is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Can’t wait to start. I need some help figuring out how to space out my shakes and i know there is more to this than shakes. Where do i get that info from?

Great job dude, you look much better. I’d continue to diet if I were you and get to sub 10% BF, then come right back with a clean bulk.

the best places are probably the original articles and Gus’s Physique Clinic thread:

http://www.T-Nation.com/findArticle.do?article=05-009-diet
http://www.T-Nation.com/findArticle.do?article=05-025-diet
http://www.T-Nation.com/readPhysClin.do?id=1852678 (first 3 pages or so have most of the diet info, but the whole thread itself is definitely worth reading while you’re doing the diet)
