Velocity Diet Journey Feat. Nick

A short introduction: My name is Nick, I am 21, 6’ and 203lbs. My goal is to improve my body image drastically by the time summer gets here. I’m not worried about my max lifts, only working hard every time I hit the gym(which will be Mon-Wed-Fri). Aesthetics and beginning a pattern of healthy, conscious eating will be the result at the end of 28 days.

Alright so I’m starting the Velocity Diet on Monday, February 4th the day after the big game.

This will be my daily schedule I’m trying to follow:

8am - First Shake (2 Metabolic Drive + Flax + HOT-ROX)
1130 - Second Shake (2 Metabolic Drive + 2 Flameout)
3pm - Third Shake (2 Metabolic Drive)
630 - Fourth Shake (2 Metabolic Drive + 2 Flameout + HOT-ROX)
10pm - Fifth Shake (2 Metabolic Drive + PB + Flax)

Weight: 203lbs as of this morning upon waking.

Measurements:

Largest part of belly: 39.5
Hips: 38
Upper Leg: 25
Lower Leg: 16
Ankle: 9.5
Chest: 42
Shoulders: 46
Upper Arm: 13
Neck: 15.5

Well today was my first day of the Velocity Diet and so far things are going good. I’ll post my schedule below in case anyone wants to follow me on my journey and/or critique(I would appreciate it).

I added all my Metabolic Drive into containers last night so I would be ready to hit the road this morning. Today I woke up around 715 and had my first shake at 8am as scheduled. I went to the office and then worked all morning, so I wasn’t able to have my lunch until just after 12. I drove to my next install which only took a few hours and had my afternoon shake at 4pm. Then I had an hour to kill before my evening appointment so I went to the mall and did a few laps.

The evening install went well and I had my supper at 715pm. A little bit of a funny story here - I bought a “Magic Bullet” blender system and a power converter for my car which worked well up until now - I either blew a fuse or something inside the converter broke. So I’m sitting in my car with my Metabolic Drive+Ice Cubes(I like the shakes thick) in my hand wondering what the hell am I going to do with this; it’s not like I can just go back to the mall to a store and start up my blender. So I decided to drive around until I found an apartment building with outdoor parking, found an empty plug and proceeded to blend my shake in -35 degree weather.

After this I drove about half an hour to the gym, which unfortunately was packed at this time. I didn’t even get a chance to use the squat rack, so I ended up doing front squats with a 70lb(first time ever doing squats, don’t make fun of me) bar just to make sure I got them done. Workout went pretty good except its such a small weight area I had to “work in” more than a few times.

After my workout is a different story. Since I’m a fatass(well, over 200lbs) my recommended dose of Surge Recovery was 4scoops. I put them in a 32oz container, added water/shook it up and tried it. I was shocked at the taste, for some reason I was thinking it would be a lot different. After my initial reaction I had to choke it down as best I could; I even had to add some more water so it wasn’t so strong. My muscles were really cramping up - mainly in my feet and thighs but even my hand felt it on my way out of the gym. As I sit here writing this I feel a lot better, I’m glad to know that the Surge must be doing it’s stuff.

My job background: I work for a cable company installing phone lines + tv + internet. I usually have 3-4 scheduled appointments every day. Customers book these installs/repairs during three time slots; 8am-12, 12-5pm, and 5-9pm. As you can see my days are fairly long and I do this Mon-Sat(No evening appts on sat though). I bought a fancy travel blender; the “Magic Bullet” which was working wonders in my car until something happened(Read above story).

I’ll probably be able to make do just driving around to apartment block parking lots and mixing them outside(Try and picture that without laughing). I live in Winnipeg, MB and our winters are notoriously cold.

I don’t even remember the last day I felt so full. I can’t understand how other people have said they were hungry day-to-day. I had a bit of trouble with each shake because I felt so full. The best shake I had today was 2 Banana Metabolic Drive + Flax + PB that I just finished. The rest of my shakes today were just mixes; some were 1 Choc + 1 Vanilla, Vanilla+Strawberry etc.

I think I’ll end todays journal here bidding you all a good night.

If anyone actually took the time to read all of that I would appreciate any critique or feedback.

Welcome to the V-Diet Crew

Just read your intro 4 scoops is over kill for the Surge Recovery…this is calorie based and one serving is enough for you…we started about the same weight as me.

By the way, the hunger kicks in second week

Good luck i am on my 5th day right now everything is going good i hope the best to you

Good luck on your journey to the road less traveled. I’m on day 16 myself and he enthusiasm has leveled out at this point. Q is definitely right about the hunger kicking in after the 14th day.

Though hunger is a physiological mechanism I think it has been triggered due to psychological wear and tear from laying in bed at night and rocking myself to sleep to the thoughts of grilled chicken salads, and salmon filets… This is enough to elicit a hunger response, no?

Anyway I digress my fellow V-dieter. Don’t mean to hijack your thread. Also I would knock your 2nd dose of HOT-ROX to 3-4 o’clock as 6 o’clock will still have you up at midnight and keeping a steal forged mind through adequate rest is the mental fortitude needed to get you through these turbulent times.

Tough it out the whole way, it’s worth it. Also you’ll find yourself trying to think “well i’ve worked so hard these past few days, I can eat one thing etc”.

Don’t do it, your stronger than that.

So I should just cut it down to 3 scoops? I’ll try it tomorrow after my next workout. Thanks for the advice.

So far so good.

Wow 16 days already, way to go. Today(Day 2, haha) I was doing laps around the mall for my NEPA and there is this fantastic pizza restaurant in there that I just couldn’t stop thinking about. I managed to control myself though, and Day2 is another success.

The HOT-ROX has no apparent effect on me, so I think I’ll stick with having it as scheduled with my shakes. Unfortunatley with my work schedule today a few of my shakes were later than planned but everything went smooth. I’m looking forward to the PB+Flax I’m about to have in an hour though.

Thanks for your words of encouragement and advice.

I definitely have that mindset of making excuses for eating unhealthy or eating whatever I want. I can’t wait for this diet to break me of that.

Day 2:

A pretty good day.

I slept in a little this morning and didn’t have my morning shake and HOT-ROX until 945am. Work was a bitch I had to install cable in a mobile home/trailer and spent a few hours crawling around underneath in the dirt and rocks.

I had my lunch shake at 1245, I just brought my blender into the customers house to mix it up because I knew I was going to be there for a couple more hours; I ended up completing it around 230pm.

I had a few hours to kill before my 5 O’clock appointment so I swung by the mall again and walked around for a while. All I could smell was the pizza from the food court which was getting to me. I used to be a pizza addict so it was tough, but I managed to walk away.

Went out to the car around 4 to drive behind an apartment building to plug my blender in for the afternoon shake. I’m glad it wasn’t too cold out today.

My evening install went well and I had my supper shake on the way home around 745pm. I’m looking forward to my peanut butter tonight and hopefully hitting the hay as early as possible tonight.

Tomorrow is workout day and I’m still a little sore from monday, but I can’t wait to hit the gym.

I hope all you other V-Dieters had a successful day.

No, two scoops…

The container says 3 scoops = 1 serving. Or if you’re over 200lbs 4 scoops = 1 serving.

Where do you get 2 from?

Mine says 2 scoops= 1 serving. I think you may have misread it. Every scoop is about 160 calories so anything more than two scoops will throw off your daily calorie goals. Anywho I give you alot of credit for the perseverance it takes to make shakes using a portable mixer plugged into old man rivers electrical outlet, lol. Keep it up bro.

Haha thanks, it’s definitely an adventure.

My container says 3 scoops = 93g = 1 Serving. Also 4 scoops is one serving if you weigh more than 200lbs which = 124g. I’m reading this right from the Surge container.

Oh that was my fault, I should have posted which Surge I was taking. Sorry about that.

I love the image of you tapping elctric outlets with your magic bullet for diet shakes!

At least post pics of that!

What’s your workout program?

Are you doing NEPA walks?

Aha I’ll try to get a picture for you one of these days. If I park in someones stall and they come by while I’m using their outlet for my blender I’ll ask them to take a picture.

Today I actually didn’t use my blender, work was busy so I quickly just added water to the powder, shook it up and pounded it.

9am - First Shake
1pm - Second
415 - Third
615 - Fourth
Gym 645 - 745
Next shake will be in about half an hour. (10pm)

Here’s the pics.

Day 1 + 2 I did laps around the mall for 45min or so. Today I was up and down stairs from the basement of an apartment building to the third floor trying to get the phone lines working. I also walked on the treadmill for 12min at the gym until I got bored.

At the gym I try to grab whatever equipment is available. Fortunately the squat rack was free this time (Last time there were over a dozen guys “in line”). Since I have never done squats before in my life I started off putting 25lb plates on and I did two sets of 8. For my next 3 sets I had 35lbs and did 8reps for the first two, 6 reps on the last set. My legs were shaky on the last rep and I almost couldn’t get the bar up, but I managed. After that I tried the Smith Machine(I think thats what its called) and did one set of 6reps with 45lb plates on, really felt a burn in my legs this time.

I did 5 sets of bb bench press, all with 25lb or 35lb plates on I can’t remember now. I did 8reps on the first 3sets, 8 on the fourth, and I asked the guy beside me to spot me on the fifth set. I managed to do 4reps before I couldn’t get the bar off my chest(Weak, I know).

This was my second serious workout(First was 2 days ago) since I was probably about 17; so four years ago. I’m pretty sure I will be able to handle a lot more weight in my second week of workouts, right now I’m sort of experimenting and trying to see what weight I can do 5sets of 6reps with. I really am a rookie and not sure what type of workout is right for me or I should be following, so I just go to the gym and try to get a full body workout in doing as much as I can.

I also did some db bench presses on a flat bench, I stared my first set using 30lbs(10reps), switched to 35lbs for my next four sets(6reps ea set). I took a little water break/walk and when I came back I did one more set of 8 with 40lbs.

I felt reall good and sore after the workout and actually enjoyed the Surge today and drank it with no problem. I found that letting it sit for a minute after I shake it up makes the foam dissolve and makes it a hell of a lot easier to drink.

Thats my story for today, I’m sure there will be more for tomorrow. Thanks for reading(If anyone did).

I also put some pics up.
