So, I decided that I would keep taking the Metabolic Drive shakes until I completely figure out my next idea. Bodyweight and waistline are way down and I will be taking some pictures soon. Measurements are good, too.
Today, Labor Day, I did five rounds of the snatch complex supersetted with doubles on the Front Squat with 165. Some easy Clean and Jerks just to stay loose, and then did about a dozen easy snatches with my athlete just to “check in.” It’s a light total day, too, so I decided to get the top lifts in by making it just part of what we were doing. Bang…easy lifts.
I feel good. Great afternoon meditation/nap. The upside of the bodyweight drop is that I can nap so much easier.

It’s nice to see the morning weigh in staying in line. I have told people a lot that the key to the V-Diet is the NEXT four months, or so. Feeling good.
Snatch Complex for four rounds
Front Squats up to 240
Snatches; Lots of easy singles
Two mile walk. Long work day.

Thank you. I’m down again…great O lifting today! Busy as f!!!
No need to edit “f”
My weight is down AGAIN. Here’s what I strived to teach on the first round of the Velocity Diet: the lessons carry over into the next “normal” training program that you do. I notice that I am full quicker, enjoy the taste of foods more (I ate a cheddar burger at the Ice Haus yesterday…I couldn’t finish it but it was just amazing. Each bite was a joy), and can deal with hunger pangs with a shrug.
Training is going well, too. Light total yesterday in the O lifts and I felt a wonderful tempo. I feel good and I can recommend these 28 days enough.

Sorry I missed yesterday’s post. I did another light total and I am transitioning into my “normal” training. Weight remains down, waistline remains down.
The weather has been odd and most people I know are being impacted by the heat and smoke from the fires. The valley is pretty bad. It’s been worse but people get a bit odd when the heat never goes down.
I am doing better about keeping those protein drinks and fish oil going. My body likes it. I love doing this diet but the lessons are even better.

I’m still ugly, but my abs came down a lot in 28 days.

Huge visual difference! Wow!
Mighty impressive! Thanks for having us along.
Great progress there Dan. Good job!
Thank you. But remember: with the Velocity Diet, the real progress comes AFTER…during the four months of “this worked, keep doing it” phase.
I actually look better a week plus after finishing.

Almost a full month after and all the numbers have stayed (waistline, weight). This is my favorite part of the Velocity Diet: the changes stick around for a long time. Ideally, this is just how I am from now on.

I love that line.
I’m often surprised, when I really shouldn’t be, when I work with someone outside of the hardcore fitness space struggling to lose fat. It’s hard to get out of my own head/habits/lifestyle. For example, I don’t eat food with added sugar. It’s “who I am now” and I really don’t even think about it. And it’s not a struggle – takes zero willpower. So it’s a mental hurdle sometimes to talk to someone who can’t fathom that crazy-pants idea.
“But what do I do when it’s someone’s birthday at the office and they bring cake?” they ask.
“You don’t eat cake. That’s not who you are anymore as someone who wants to lose weight and keep it off,” I say in a polite way.
Them: Deer in the headlights expression. “But, but, you have to eat cake! What are you doing, Chris, promoting eating disorders?!”
Me: Deer in the headlights expression.

At my old office, people got offended when I didn’t eat (or, later, even go to the weekly birthday/whatever party…see Office Space for details) the damn cake.
It’s not one thing like cake or whatever. It’s just knowing that I am not going to mindlessly shove food down my throat. My buddy, Bob, mentioned this (he is on the Velocity Diet) that he noticed that he wasn’t munching down crap on MNF…and he stopped and realized that this was his old “normal:” Football on TV means food in hand.
I loved doing this again, Chris

That’s definitely a big one. See also: movie theatre snacks. Are we really hungry at the theatre after “dinner and a movie” night? Usually not. It’s just an environmental trigger. It’s “who we are” but probably shouldn’t be. Also, you can sneak in a bag of almonds.

This is what I did when I was competing… either sneak in almonds, beef jerky or a few rice cakes. Movie theatres are triggers… kind of thankful that now post 2020 we dont really go anymore. Learned to enjoy the movies from home. Enjoyed reading this log. Thanks for sharing!
