Good luck. Let us know how it goes. Even take some vids of lifts and post them here for critiques if you like.
did a cycle of juggernaut, which is a great program, now doing a cycle or two of ol trusty 5/3/1. hit 425x3 for a pr on deadlifts today. BW of 190
just switched back to 5/3/1 after a cycle of sheiko…got 305x11 squats and 335x10 deadlift

That bar is terrible. There’s like no slack.

How does that make the bar terrible? It’s probably an IPF bar like an eleiko he is using. It just makes the lift different (and harder obviously). If you compete IPF or affiliates like the USAPL, then that is what you should be training with! Regarding the video, that is a fantastic effort! Anyone woulda given up after 1, but he pushed for 3 somehow. Not sure how he swung it really hahaha
Went 550 squat today and took 600 rev band squat for a spin. Both went up real damn quick. The rev band squat only took off 30 at the bottom and was fully deloaded by about halfway up. All and all pretty happy with things. I’ll be taking a shot at 600 at APC nationals in 2 weeks.

It was partly a compliment. The bar isn’t making it any easier for him. I meant terrible in that sense. Not that it’s faulty equipment or a poor choice for use.
pulled a pretty quick 715 on saturday, also had a 1000 lb rev band squat( true at top, -90 at bottom) a few weeks ago. both equipped. heres the dead.

saw it. you’re killing it man.
Damn Scoops! Tearing it up!
Finally hit a 500 lbs Deadlift at 203 (compete at 198). Barely missed 510 right below mid knee (once it passes there its always up, huge glutes FTW). Now its time to bring up this pathetic 350 squat. 6’1 with long legs = squatting sucks
The 550 was right at parallel maybe an inch high so I’ve got to sink it a bit more. First time I’d really had tight wraps on and I just couldn’t feel my legs to feel where depth was but I should be able to go with it at the meet. The 600 was -30 at the bottom, 0 at the top and I think I’m going to have that be my third attempt at APC Nationals next weekend.
Looked barely high but they are work sets and great progress regardless.
Does APC allow knee wraps? I am doing a USAPL meet this fall but want to find a different federation to compete in after that allows wraps. My knees just feel so much safer with wraps.
Looks like a good group to lift with too, wish I wasnt stuck at the Uni rec.
Yah like I said it’s a bit too close for my liking, some judges may give it to me, others won’t. I’ve got to sink it a bit more.
APC allows knee wraps and this was the first time I’ve really ever had them cranked - only lifted in wraps maybe 6-7 times (apparently they’re still only about “half tight” so says the teammate who wrapped me) which was making it a bit harder to hit the depth I normally do since I can’t fricken feel my legs. This weekend I’m doing my squat opener and we’re going to crank the wraps to max just so I can get used to it and maybe be able to figure out how to determine depth when I can’t feel my legs.
Yeah I feel you, I like to wrap my knees sometimes during training lifts and didnt have them “properly tied” until a few weeks ago, I think I was focused more on not being able to feel my knees versus the actual squat. However, when they are tied extremely tight like that the rebound out of the hole really does help.

I think with more practice the pain and discomfort will bother you less and less. Just takes way more than a half-dozen sessions to get used to them.
That said, I wrap my own knees, so maybe I don’t even know what tight is haha.
I’m at 165 lbs Bodyweight
330-340 DL
250x5 Squat
Can’t bench at the moment and won’t be for awhile due to shoulder problems.
Not all too impressive, but not awful for only having lifted for 9 months. Plus, with long legs and average length arms, none of my lifts stand out from the others.

Yah I’m able to stand it more and more but when I’ve got guys who are quite capable at just casting my leg going from never wearing wraps to that is a pretty big difference heh. I’m hoping I can manage to get them even tighter for the meet!
