Unable to squat for 4-8 weeks

I was diagnosed with patella femoral syndrome and am unable to squat for at least 4-8 weeks. Dead lifting and exercise that don’t require significantly bending the knees are alright. How would you recommend modifying the program? Thanks

Use something like a good morning or a stiff legged deadlift as your other lower body lift.

Don’t sweat it man I had surgery back in August an could squat after 4 weeks but chose to wait 3 months. Started back up light an my squat is even better than before. Train what is trainable now and when the time comes to get back under the bar kick some ass.

No one can tell you what to do - like the guy above said “Train what is trainable”. If you are creative in exercise selection and smart about your rehab, you’ll be fine. But what you can do or cannot do is something based on your body and your pain tolerance.
