I’m sorry to hear it man. We all go through seasons with this. I hope you’re able to get back to a healthy place soon; the gym will always be there when you’re ready for it again
You definitely don’t want to risk a run-in with the law!
I really didn’t do much in terms of visual transformation, let’s face it, but I am feeling very good. I feel strong. I’m eating phenomenally well, I’m walking or jogging two miles at least once a day, and am building muscle. Unfortunately not enough for pics to show, but I do see it: delts when I’m putting my hair up, triceps randomly as I move through my life, stuff like that. I’m unselfconscious walking around the house in limited clothing and am enjoying my wardrobe. I really can’t complain!
Starting weight was 158 or so, finishing at 152.6. Did not light the world on fire, but again, content for now.
Let’s roll team! We’re in the final countdown! Let’s get those pics in. @aldebaran @barley1 @burien_top_team @Captain_Furious @Deadliftnstill @Dresden @donnerschweer @Feeble_Knievel @Frank_C @freshyfresh @GAINSBYIG @heretolog @jibb @lablabz @limitlessmonkey @loganator @lurking @OTHSteve @raoh1990 @raven78 @SvenG @taylortooswift @TheCenturion @trimtabber79 @unicornsandrainbows @Well_Swung @whiplash1 @wiseman83
Not much change on my front (except the hair). I was really focusing on some lifts and got them stronger so thats always good. About to start a cut because I have to weigh 181 in august for a comp and I’m about 13lbs over that right now
If ever there was a reason to clearly identify “before” vs “after” photos …
For reference, I’ll be 58 in a week. 65" tall.
Glad for the scale weight. That aside, Dave Tate once said something about reaching a point in weight loss process where you actually look worse than you did when you started. I think that’s about where I am. Five pounds down. Five to go by the August Check-in.
Missed a month+ of training due to the shoulder surgery. Finishing up six weeks of my rehab version of Tactical Barbell this week and will likely do another six before bringing my re-stitched shoulder back into action.
First bulk in the books! Also done while training for an UltraMarathon. You can run and build muscle!
I couldn’t find my befores but these are my afters….so my main goal was trying to focus on building my numbers and whatever size came on as well, so be it. I did have some initial weight gain but with everything I wound up dealing with in the last part of march and through April I did lose some of that weight too. I started at 200, went up to 212 at my heaviest, and this morning weight about 205. I feel like this season was a good one overall despite everything…I’m not sure how much it comes across in the pictures but I definitely put some size on as well as built my numbers. Two of my favourite moments was getting 185 overhead again (it had been a while since I hit that weight and I’m now working on hitting the equivalent to my bw with that one as well) and getting fresh stretch marks on my chest. Even a coworker noticed that I got bigger too so that was pretty cool. Not all of my numbers went up by anything spectacular, but they did go up none the less and I’m gonna continue to chase numbers for the next while too. Anyways…
I see no point in clogging things up with a before and after that’s darn near the same, so I’m out.
I joined to find motivation and it didn’t work. But my return to the forum has been good and I might have possibly found some inspiration along the way.
That’s the win!
That’s really impressive
Dudes (and gals)! Get those pics in!
I intend to start the voting thread Wednesday!
@TrainForPain - Here are my after shots:
Wait, that’s not right…
Seriously though, I fell off a cliff once the tree came down, so:
Good news is, I managed to:
for the first 10 weeks or so of the challenge, and I’m back on the horse now, actively getting my TMs established for some 5/3/1—while I’m a firm believer that all roads lead to Rome IF you work hard enough and consistently enough, I also believe that some things work better than others, depending on the individual.
So 5/3/1 it is.
To the rest of you: You all rock! Thanks for not giving up on me, even when I’m not walking the walk.
The T-Nation community really is something different.
Yes it is!
Glad things are going better man
Here is my did not change much final pictures.
I feel stronger, my body hurt less, I weigh the same.
two massive wins.Well done
I’d kinda forgotten about all this. @davemccright and @throwawayfitness your transformations are ridiculous.
I don’t have anyone at home to snap an after pic; I’m sure I look almost exactly the same. Instead of killing myself with Eternal Warrior and eating in a deficit like last year, I softened the program a bit, eating around maintenance. I hit a +20lb PR in the squat today and doubled my previous best DL +10lbs last week.
I’m happy with that.
This remains, by far, the best fitness community on the web.
Went from 275.4 to 266.4. Would appreciate if I could eat exactly what/how I want to and not have love handles but here we are. Not a huge transformation but definitely leaner so happy enough.
You’re in good company. Fortunately, I’ve found that a few days of discipline can offset me eating what I want for a day or couple meals. Unfortunately I failed to implement that for about six weeks during this and undid my initial progress.
