(Un)Official 2024 T-ransformation Challenge

My plan is to keep riding the wave of what’s worked for me lately. Moderate-High calories (for me) and high protein with an emphasis on peri workout nutrition along with old school Bodybuilding training, namely Mountain Dog training. Calories will be higher on training days than rest days.

Goal for this year is to gain 10lb muscle (250 > 260lb) while staying at 10% bf which is where I currently am. My new Men’s health business launches on 15th January so scaling that to success is my bigger goal this year!

Pictures are cold taken before gym today with no lighting cheating!!

These are probably some of the best starting points I’ve ever seen!

Keep those pictures coming! Get them in by end of tomorrow and then we’re all working on the afters!

Can we pull the shorts up a tad next time? We’re getting into root-adjacent areas :joy:

Funny, I thought it was perfectly fine!

So I’ve dropped non-fruit carbs, just trying for a reset that will help me stick to whole grains when I let them back in next week, and to significantly reduce even those. I feel like the only person in the world who gains weight from steamed rice. But I love it so. I also need to break my lumberjack appetite. My metabolism just can’t manage it anymore, and the quantity and intensity of exercise that enabled it is too hard on my body now.

I thought I was doing really well tolerating the change, but then it occurred to me on the way to work that I actually tried my dog’s special Christmas cookie from “The Barkery” last night. I happened to catch a whiff of it when I was breaking her off a piece, and it smelled so good! Cinnamon-y and sweet. So I took a tiny bite of the frosting, and it WAS sweet! Less so than a regular frosted cookie, but still, yum! Then I took a bigger bite that included some of the cookie itself, and that was good, too. So that’s where I am with my diet, lol.

Thought I’d share, in case anyone else has taken to eating the dog food. You’re not alone!

That carbohydrate/sugar addiction is real. And after a long enough time abstaining, those taste buds REALLY get amped up.

:+1:. My neighbor makes pumpkin/gingerbread cookies shaped like dog treats.

They’re really quite good.

I’m ducking out on the challenge this year, but will be around for moral support. Or something.

You can’t spend the rest of your life eating dog treats and slacking off, bud!

J/K. You’ll be ready when you’re ready.

I’m going to save a piece of the giant dog cookie for my husband. He’s in San Diego currently and undoubtedly eating like a criminal. I’m curious to see if he finds the dog food as tasty as I did after 4 days of Mexican and poke bowls and whatever else he gets up to in the big city.

I’m sure he’ll be ok. San Diego is my one brothers favorite place to eat. Yeah, that sounds weird. But its true.

Oh, I 100% know he’ll be all right! My point is whether someone who is enjoying food we can’t easily get at home will find the dog food as enticing as his dieting wife did.

Edit: and apparently you do, lol.

Rolling these love handles in close to the final hour!

Goal is to get leaner than I ever have been. Probably somewhere around 135-140lbs. Currently sitting at 159.
I keep rebounding after taking off a couple pounds off. I want to STAY lean. I am pretty happy with my muscle level, I just want to skim the fat off the top.
