UFC Fight Night 14: Silva vs. Irvin

So much for JT Money being out of the UFC. Now I kind of feel like they just fucked him out of the Finale. What is the point of kicking the guy out, only to bring him back a month later? Just for drama and ratings? That’s BS.

Thats a pretty interesting interview. At least he is honest in setting out the areas in which he knows he cant beat Silva. But, I think he should add the clinch to one of those areas. Leverage and power matter but, so do skill, talent and experience. Silva has the edge in the last 3. I guess if he is so confident that he has the upper hand in the clinch, we are going to see him try to clinch up with Silva. That will make for an interesting fight.

Also, he planned the superman punch on Alexander!? If thats true, that was one amazingly executed game plan…

I think he is in for a BIG suprise.

Problem is I can’t find anybody to bet on it. People will run their mouth about this and that but nobody wants to risk anything on Irvin winning.[/quote]
Haha, absolutely!

Silva at 220? Sounds like he is going to be big for the fight! Cant wait, awesome weekend coming up…

C’mon Spider!!

My personal head up my ass opinion is that Anderson could probably whip most of the 205 division at 185. No bets here.

I don’t know about if he came in at 185, but if he came in at 205 like everyone else I think he’d likely beat (apart from the always-present possibility of a fluke):

Rampage – Pretty darn confident Anderson would dominate; probably win by KO or TKO in the 2nd or 3rd.

Griffin – Pretty darn confident Anderson would dominate; probably win by KO or TKO in the 2nd or 3rd.

Chuck – Pretty darn confident Anderson would dominate; probably win by decision, or maybe KO late in the fight.

Machida – I think Anderson might be the one guy who is accurate enough (and effective enough) with his strikes such that Machida wouldn’t be “elusive enough” to escape being damaged, and eventually KO’d or TKO’d by Anderson (in the 3rd or later).

Wanderlei – Would be close, as Wanderlei’s brutality could take it if he connects, and he understands Anderson’s Muay Thai skills better than the others do, but Anderson is more accurate with his striking, and has better BJJ, and a reach advantage. Anderson by decision or KO late in the fight. Probably won’t happen, as they’re good friends, but it would be a GREAT fight.

Just IMO.

Shogun in primo form would be a pretty good opponent for Anderson.

How are you guys NOT going crazy over that eye poke?!

That was garbage.

It was such a stupid decision I can’t even think about it.

Vera was booooring!

The Vera fight wasn’t very exciting but the man is still hurting from the weight cut

Agreed

fair enough, he looked depleted and stringy/soft.

The Spider total destruction over the sandman.

Great catch on the kick and nice right hand.

Forrest better be worried…if Silva stays at 205.

He is that good.

Silva is AMAZING

It was an amazing minute

Spider just added another 5 seconds to his highlight reel. Meanwhile Arlovski is looking great over on Affliction.
