UFC 68

That was easily the most impressive sports event I have seen in a really long time. I had my doubts about Randy until he put Silvia down in the first twenty seconds of the fight. Just incredible. I’m going to go out on a limb and say it was also one of the most inspiring things I’ve seen in the thirty years I’ve been on the planet. Unbelievable.

The only down side to Couture’s astounding win over Sylvia is CroCop.

What a fight that was.

Randy won, but he will defend his belt against Cro Cop.

mine too. incredible. what a performance. I was practially dripping sweat going into the 5th round. I just kept seeing a nightmare scenario of a lucky punch from timmah shutting the whole thing down.

so what now? can he re-retire before mirko ends his career for him? does he even plan on fighting again? what happens to the belt if he dosent?

damn randy couture, at 39 years old, do i HAVE to hear my GF look at him on the tube and ask “he is 4 years older than you???”

i just am NOT a Silva fan. he always makes lame ass excuses when he loses, hell even after a win against the “pit-bull” he made some sort of lame excuse about him getting knocked down early in the fight that made the crowd boo…

but what is next for randy? i hope he does not get into the ring with cro-cop, that will be ugly.

Couture vs CroCop.

This could ge to be VERY interesting in the future.

CroCop and Sylvia should fight next. Winner then takes on Randy.

Randy is the man, WOW! I can’t believe it, that was the most incredible thing I have seen in years. I was sitting on the edge of my seat raising my arms, say WOW! Great stuff.

I think Couture is 43 if I’m not mistaken.

Now, now, folks, Mirko has to fight Gonzaga. After the last two weekends, I won’t rule out anything.

I thought the Hughes fight was a bit lackluster. I was surprised that MacDonald didn’t do better. I was very surprised that Coutre won. Anyone else make these predictions?

You are correct, closer to 44 actually. Amazing fight, couldn’t believe how many times Couture took him down.

39 + 4 = 43…

The way he used his commas made it seem as if it was a comment with a mistaken age.

UFC 68 was FANTASTIC. I thought after Pride 33 that UFC 68 was going to be the later part of this MMA climax, boy was I wrong. All the fights were exciting with action packed ground and stand up. So many great moments too many to name.

I am surprised no one has commented on Jason MacDonald’s verbal give up right before the bell. I think MacDonald came in a bit over confident and Rich showed his massive power and control skills, who has been questioned by many Monday Morning Quarterbacks.

Cheers people.
Just browsing this thread and thought I would check the sports channels over here in Korea. UFC 68 is on tonight. Wouldn’t have known otherwise. Looking forward to it.

Are the fights on the internet yet? I can’t wait to watch the Sylvia-Couture fight.

I’m still in shock…Randy Friggin’ Couture won! Unbelieveable performance.

The one fight on the card that I had a problem with was the Hughes-Lytle fight. The ref never stood them up.

It was boring, and in the last round - they just laid on the ground for a good 2 minutes.

No offense to Hughes - but he never really did anything except land a few elbows.

It was a crappy win for him, and a crppy loss for Lytle. I really hope they give Lytle more fights.

UFC 69 is in Houston in April -

I hope GSP sends fucking Serra back to NJ looking like Huges after his 1.5 rounds with GSP.

And why the fuck are they matching Diego up against these 2nd tier fighters? Cos is pretty good - but Diego needs to fight someone capable of ripping his fucking head off.

God I hate Diego.

couture vs. sylvia was AWESOME. one of the most inspiring things i’ve seen in my life. if a 43-year-old guy can win a championship against a seasoned champion, then ANYTHING is possible. of course, sylvia played up the injury card as the reason for his loss. wah f’n wah. that was truly amazing!

the hughes fight was alright. definitely wasn’t the most exciting fight. and the franklin fight was a rather decisive one. i thought mcdonald would’ve put up a better fight…

what’s next for randy? in my humble opinion, i say he should retire with the title and go out with style. but that won’t happen. if he faces cro-cop, it won’t be pretty. cro-cop will unload on him a lot worse than sylvia… give sylvia a rematch? i think that might be the best possibility.

Couture is unbelievable! What a performance.

I thought the rest of the card was so-so. What was Babalu doing with those knees? He got dropped once so he does it again and gets ktfo? Crazy. I’ve seen 4 of his fights now and i have to say i think he is overated. A lot of people say he’s top 10 but not in my opinion.

Franklin was just too big and too good for Mcdonald but he put up a fight.

The Hughes fight was a bit average.

Does anyone think Randy has a chance against Cro cop?
