LOL
Everybody behave or I’ll send this fucker after you.
As for Monson, I think the reach will be a huge obstacle for him. However, if he does get Sylvia down it will be very very bad for Sylvia. Sure his reach might make it more difficult to pass the guard but that’s about it. I think it will be a disadvantage in other aspects of the ground game. If Monson gets side control or mount…fight is as good as over. However, I think there is a good possibilty for Monson to get KO’ed standing. ie: Eat a flying knee.
I hate to say it but I have to give Sylvia the edge here. I just see Monson having so much trouble closing the distance. Regardless, I want Monson to sub his ass.

I bet Sylvia isn’t too bad on the ground, doesn’t the Miletich camp sorta train everything? [/quote]
Absolutely.
It’s just that Monson is a beast on the ground. Also, the ground is the weakest part of Sylvia’s game as both of his losses occured by sub on the ground.
Simply if it goes to the ground look for Monson to win. If it doesn’t go to the ground, look for Monson to go sleepy night night.
I’d give this one to GSP but hey…it’s a toss up! Plus if GSP wins then we can see the rematch between him and BJ or the rubber match between Huhges v. GSP, Hughes V. BJ… endless amounts of good times.
I’d like to see Monson win as I don’t care much for Silyvia. Plus I’m politically aligned with Monson.

Hello forum, I am new here obviously, 1st posting, but delighted to see we have a ‘Snowman’ - Jeff Monson fan here! Im with Zeppelin795 on this one, lets see him kick some butt!

sylvia watched to much WWF growing up, CAN HE NOT WEAR HIS BELT FOR ONE EVENT!?!?!
Everytime I see him at a UFC event he has his Belt it just really annoys me for some reason…
Does anyone else do this?
another thing that I have been wondering is, does Timy Sylvia have to cut weight? Dosn’t UFC have a limit of 265 for the HW class and dosn’t he ussaly come in right around 265?

Yes he has to cut a bit I think, not very much though.
What St. Pierre needs to do to win is to play Hughes’ game. Beat him to it. And I think he’s got the size to do it.
St. Pierre may have a striking advantage, but he lacks those “Chuck Liddell qualities” he needs to finish Matt on the feet. If St. Pierre tries to sprawl and brawl, he will be taken down eventually and then Matt is taking control.
I’m really looking forward to this one. If I were to put money on it, it would be on Hughes.
Im surprised UFC havnt dropped Nick for daring to lose more than 2 fights in a row. But I guess they want a high turnover to keep it interesting and fresh, unlike Aussie cricket.

I think you’re the first guy to accuse the UFC of being interesting and fresh…
In their first fight GSP was doing very well against Hughes when he underestimated his BJJ, it happens.
Hey, have you noticed that plenty of people do very well against Hughes in the first round? Go back and take a look at some of the vids. Trigg was doing well, Newton was doing well, Penn had a good first round last time up.
But they, along with some 40 plus other guys have something in common- THEY STILL LOST.
The winner is NOT determined by who is doing well early on.
Hughes may have finished off Penn the second time, but he looked like Hell to start off the fight.
Read above comments.
So I stand by my opinion that this is a very even fight and one I can’t wait to see.
LOL, good for you, stand right by it. When Hughes destroys him I will make a special post laughing at you.
GSP is very over rated and this fight will once again demonstrate that.
GSP will lose that is a certainty.
