I thought Forrest dominated Bonner in the second fight, and let’s not forget that Stephan was coming off of surgery in the fight against Jones. But I agree Bones should win, but it isn’t out of the realm of possibility for Forrest to win imo.
Oh and Gomi is being rumored to fight G Soto or Guida on the Machida Rampage card.

True. I think that’s one of the things that makes MMA such a great sport; anyone can win on a given night. There are no gaurantees.
For one thing I can’t recall ever seeing anyone test Jones’ chin (which is largely a testament to how quick and good Jones is). Forrest has always had a pretty decent chin and could possibly just out tough Jones if he could lure him into a slugging match. But again I doubt it.
kind of a sidenote here, but i was looking at Forest’s new book, and he has a referece to “Its always Sunny in Philadelphia”…proof yet again, that he’s pretty much the coolest guy ever.
Hope James Toney knocks the fuck out of Randy Couture. James Toney is right…in the boxing world Randy Couture would be considered a bum. James Toney is a livin legend in boxing…the amount of skill he posses is world class and Randy doesn’t have shit on him…even if he does win by taking him down and laying and hitting. I’m not pro boxing, compared to MMA…i love both sports. I just think MMA is still obviosuly a new sport…to consider some MMA athletes at the same level of elite world class athletes compared to boxers is a joke.
If your pro MMA, you will disagree with me obviosuly.

Come on bro, that’s a pretty piss poor trolling attempt.
I would hope you know I don’t make/create troll attempts…I think HOW I wanted to say what I meant perhaps came out wrong for you not to understand exactly what I’m trying to say…but first I want to know why you think this is a troll attempt?
I will say again though…MMA is a sport where someone who is stronger could be used to their advantage, boxing in itself is a sport much more set on pure skill.
I am the strongest guy in my boxing gym and that didn’t mean a god damn thing, I go against someone with ground skills and my strength gave them trouble to do what they wanted. To say some of these MMA athletes are world class is a joke…Forrest Griffin is a tough son of a bitch…he isn’t world class…Anderson Silva is an elite striker…well look what happened to Forrest when brought up against someone with THAT kind of skill set. Forrest Griffin is good, but when reaching the elite levels…not a chance skill-wise.
Let me give you an example on what Chael said: So theres something that he sees in my style that he’s just flat just staying away from. He has looked good but it’s not hard to look good against some of those guys that he’s competing with. So you know I’m not here to put these guys down but from my stand point it’s a different style than he’s ever faced. People tell me how dangerous he is on his feet; he’s not going to be on his feet against me."
That just says it right there…Chael has said he knows how to standup and fight but he’s not delusional to go into pro boxing and make it. Anderson Silva has looked good standup fighting guys with shit skill.
Do you understand what I am trying to say?
Chael is world class in what he does takedowns etc. his national titles, his silver medal in 2001.
James Toney is world class…like he said Randy Couture would be considered a bum in boxing, a hall of famer? Look at Randy’s list of fighters…he beat guys better than them cause they didn’t even have the skill set of wrestling he had. I’m just saying…boxing has been around longer, and those guys in the elite is a much more fair fight skill-wise in my opinion between going through all the amatuer (some olympic) all the pro fights. I’d say if Randy Couture since his striking for the most part was crap…fought more guys with his ACTUAL skill level it’d be different.
CHUCK LIDDEL - he was great…why? He knocked out a bunch of wrestlers who knew shit about striking. That’s what I’m trying to say…the UFC is a young sport…these guys don’t have world class levels in all their abilities (that’s fine they will have weakness)…as the sport continues to grow, the LONGER it is around…the skill set of the fighters will be MUCH bigger with world class elite guys in ground work and striking and that’ll be a whole new animal.

Foreman vs Frazier, go watch it again.
In any athletic event, superior physicality is going to help. Yes, some are less dependent on physical superiority than others (curling for example), but even in those superior strength is going to result in the ability to have superior control, balance, accuracy, etc…
All that you are basically saying in that paragraph is that Forrest Griffin is not a world class athlete, and I’d agree with you. To then extrapolate from that that no MMA fighters are world class athletes is just crazy talk. You’ve got numerous fighters who were former Olympic medalists (meaning they were in the top 3 in the world at that time), NCAA champions (the best in the USA at that time), submission grappling world champions, etc… All of these athletes are world class; just as much as any boxer who accomplishes the same level of success.
Yes, strength plays more of a role in grappling than some other sports, simply because of the nature of the grappling. But that doesn’t make the athletes any lower caliber or less skilled.
lmao, toney isnt going to be much of any kind of athlete on his back…your world class argument will be worth all of shit when he gets posterized by a 47 year old man
Randy is a world class wrestler…how can you be considered a legend, a hall of famer…fighting guys with much less of a status then you have. In the boxing world that’s called a bum. That’s why Randy would be considered a bum in boxing. At least in boxing the playing field is a lot more equal becaues the guys fighting have done the same trial for the most part (amateur, olympic, got ranked up on pro status)…some of these guys in the UFC don’t have that (WITH REGARDS TO WRESTLING AS WELL) so I just feel the status is not as justified.
How can you put in a guy with not as much wrestling credentials, dominate…and say your the best? Bleh.
I don’t think Stephan Bonnar has much wrestling background…look what happened to him when Jon Jones got a hold of him. That may be an extreme example cause Jones is very talented but regardless. Do you understand? Read back to this post I made below:

guess what dumb ass that’s why the sport is called MIXED MARTIAL ARTS no fucking shit Randy would be a bum in boxing just like Toney would duck in wrestling. go watch boxing
