Ufc 104

As much as I like Machida, he lost that fight. He won round 3 and that’s it. Shogun landed better shots, had him against the cage, and fought an overall better fight. Lyoto was hurt badly. I don’t think he wants a piece of Shogun again. I do feel really bad for Shogun, I’m sure he’s won some fans.

The key to breaking down Machida is now exposed: attack him, be proactive, go after his legs. Lyoto’s next opponent I guarantee will break down this tape and see what needs to be done.

Velasquez dominated Rothwell. I’m surprised Mazzagati didn’t stop the fight in the first round. Even if the fight went the distance, I thought Cain won the first round 10-8, and Rothwell could have won rounds 2/3 for a draw, at best.

And AJ, nice start to the main event with a 30-second KO.

Heh, so I guess you’re done with MMA? Come on bro, we both know the majority of decent competition and matchmaking is in the UFC right now. Dream isn’t close on the latter, and Strikeforce on the latter.

On the other hand, who knows, maybe the Athletic Commission’s judges were swayed by some cash. There is a precedence for this in boxing, but let’s be honest, it wasn’t THE WORST decision we’ve seen in MMA (though it probably takes the cake for championship bouts in the past few years, Rutten-Randleman not withstanding)

Sweet comeback dude, saying how insults are for the weak and then insulting someone. F’ing brilliant stuff right there. I don’t need to argue against your strawmen. Don’t put words in my mouth and expect me to argue the point.

Machida won. Shogun let it go to decision. He should have been able to capitalize since he had the champ so hurt with all this damage to his legs and a cut according to you guys. You can keep crying about it, and Machida will still be the champ.

This was one of the few big name fights that I had no preference or emotional stock in, unlike you guys that are so hurt by a boring close fight that did not crown a new champ. I couldn’t care less if Machida won, but I never like to see a belt change hands in a fight like the one displayed tonight.

At the start of the fight, there were chants of “Machida”. At the end, the chants were all “Shogun”. Just saying… the audience probably didn’t agree with you.

Audiences at live events are generally not people I would ally myself with…just sayin…they don’t have a good track record you know? They wouldn’t ever be accused of being the most knowledgable fans.

Good for you…now move along.

Anyone that says, Machida won is a fool. You should not have to finish the champ to beat him. And Shogun clearly beat him.

I agree. But who’s next for the dragon? Can Rashad take another stab at him? He certainly has the tools to emulated Shogun’s gameplan. Will Rampage return? Will Shogun get a VERY well deserved immediate rematch?

I would have scored that round 10-7, heheh. That reminded me of back when I was a kid and I’d fight my little brother (who at the time was half my size). Cain fucking manhandled him, made Rothwell look like a complete amateur. I highly doubt there was any coming back from that.

Bullshit, Yoshida was totally fine, totally ready to defend.[/sarcasm]
Seriously though, AJ is too fucking BIG for 170. He claimed a knee injury kept him from making weight, but honestly I think 185’s his home. Look at him, his body fat’s in the low single digits come fight time, you’re telling me there’s 5.5 pounds of fat and water he can pull out of there without fucking himself up with diuretics? Plus, I’d go so far as to say he’s bigger than Cung Le, Henderson, shit even Marquardt, not to mention Maia.

Well…how valid is Dana White’s opinion of who won? Also, that is pretty bold to say that about fans who attend the events. It’s not like those that post on internet forums are any more knowledgeable.

I thought I was supposed to move along, why then are you addressing me good sir? You really just show yourself to be argumentative for the sake of it if you are going to defend the fans who are all too quick to boo strategic stand-up battles or a good chess match on the ground. Maybe you just haven’t seen many MMA events.

Again go back to sherdog

Next for the Dragon? Maybe the winner of Rashad-Thiago? Lyoto beat both of them back to back, but know they have a huge advantage as compared to last time. Is it fair for other LHW if Rashad or Thiago gets a chance ahead of everyone else. An immediate rematch with Shogun would be great, but I don’t know if it will happen.

Yeah Cain whooped up. I’m thinking maybe Cain-Dos Santos for the right to fight winner of Lesnar-Carwin?

Yeah AJ needs to fight at MW. He’s huge for WW, and perfect for MW. Apparently, he had to cut from 220 to make weight, then blamed it on a new cutting method given to him by a friend of an agent. Then the knee injury. Don’t know what’s true or not.

Exactly. Forrest did not finish Rampage, but won the title. And yes, Shogun clearly won. As much as I like Machida, he lost.

I’m obviously defending the select fans who boo unnecessarily…yep. It’s not like any knowledgeable MMA fan would ever boo to show their dislike of a decision…right? You assume and generalize too much. I’m sure I’ve stated that to you before.

Well, that settles it.
Look at the ‘Leg Power’ bar, stands right out.

Shogun got robbed, It was dissapointing. I was on the edge of my seat hoping he would keep winning rounds. He did, or so I thought until I heard the judges decision. I felt bad for him. At the worst it should have been a split decision, but unanimous decision for Machida? whatever.

That Shogun fight was such bs. Machida was completely fucked. I’m sure he wont be getting out of bed tomorrow.

Rampage Jackson was partying at the bar my buddy bartends at tonight. I asked him what he thought of the Shogun fight and he also said it was bs that he lost.

That was my first thought after watching the fight, assuming you don’t give Cain first shot at whoever wins Carwin-Lesnar. Cain-Dos Santos would be an awesome fight but I suspect the UFC will want to save both of their unbeaten records for shots at Brock.

I’m actually kinda glad that Anderson Silva won’t fight Machida cos I don’t think there’s any doubt now that he’d massacre him. Thiago Silva definitely has the tools to beat Machida in a rematch if he follows Shogun’s gameplan but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Machida v Shogun 2 early next year…

Joe Daddy looked awesome - I think he’s up there in title contention after his last couple of fights.

Plus they have all that “extra money” to throw away on “really good seats” at a live event. Who would ever want to hang out with them? /sarcasm
