Hey guys, wanted to give an update. I’m deep into my peak week week for my second bb’ing contest, the Natural Mr. Nebraska. I’ll be competing on Saturday in the collegiate and open classes, and I’ll keep you guys updated! Have a couple good buddies competing also (I prepped one of them), so should be a fun weekend :)[/quote]

Best of luck. It’d be pretty cool to have a Mr. Nebraska on here -lol

Sorry i’m late to the party.

You did awesome at the first show - arms looked awesome and shredded especially.

Good luck with the next!

It is a pretty highly coveted title in the natural bodybuilding world

Thanks Rattle, appreciate it man :). Hope all is well with you, all finished up with school?!

New to the thread, really enjoyed reading through this today! Best of luck in your show tomorrow.

I really liked how you went through and gave a breakdown of your macros through the 20 weeks and provided some sample meals you used.

Your thread makes me want to train for a show, did one 6 years ago and the guy helping me had me do a ton of cardio and eat the same plain boring meals all the time. It’s interesting seeing how you can get so lean while still eating a variety of foods with plenty of carbs. Did you have to restrict your water?

Thanks for the kind words man! Yep, working with Brian has showed me that a lot of the time honored traditions and peaking wisdom are both unnecessary and unguided. I consumed over 2 gallons of water every day this week and will be having 8-12 oz with each meal today

Hey guys, so I competed in my second bodybuilding contest this past weekend. The show was kind of two shows in one, the Max Classic/Natural Nebraska. The Max was the main show and then the Natural Nebraska side of the show was only open to Nebraska residents. I competed in the Max collegiate division, the Max open tall, and the Natural Nebraska open tall. I ended up taking 2nd in collegiate, 2nd in the Max open tall, and 3rd in the Natural Nebraska open tall. My first ever bodybuilding client placed 3rd in one of his open short classes, 4th in the other open short class, and won the novice overall for the show!

Post contest with my friend and training coach Jacob Trout

Wow congratulations man you must be thrilled!

That’s excellent results for both you and your client!

Congrats! Awesome job. I hope you have a large case/shelf for all the trophies you’re picking up lately!

Congrats!

Awesome, man,.

congrats

Hey guys, sorry I haven’t updated this for awhile. If anyone’s following along still, I’m actually competing one more time this weekend! My coach, Brian Ahlstrom, is the co-promoter of the NGA Titan Classic in Des Moines, so I decided to jump into one last show for the season. 4 show (3 in bb’ing) has definitely been a grind physically and financially lol, but I plan on taking a very long offseason to grow before competing again.

So I want to get the extra experience and as much out of this prep as I can! I think my conditioning will be a notch better for this show than it has been at my first two bb’ing comps. We pushed pretty hard the last 2 weeks since the show in Norfolk, and I hit a prep low of 168.0 yesterday in my final day of depletion before pushing the carbs hard today (rapid backloading). Excited to see how I fill out!

Prior to starting backload this morning, flat as a pancake haha
