I am still fairly new to lifting. I was very overweight and have lost 115 pounds. I have been lifting for about 6-7 months and starting to see alot of changes in my muscle growth. I did a pretty heavy leg workout yesterday (at least for me) and today my legs are pretty sore.
My question is should I go do my cardio today as I had planned or should I take the day off? Is it a good idea to do cardio or other workouts when you are sore? Thanks for the advice!!!

I wouldnt let sore legs keep you from doing Cardio… you should be ok . It will actually help with the sorness. just make sure the diet is in order and after you can help recovery and sorness with an Epson salt hot bath… soak 15 - 20 minutes before bed … and you will sleep like a baby
If you really wanna do cardio, don’t strain your legs too much. Just let enough blood to flow through them to aid in recovery. Use one of those cardio machines that aren’t too stressful to the legs but use the entire body (ie. rowing machines and the bike-like machine wherein you stand and use your arms as well but I don’t know what it’s called).
You can pretty much work your other muscles at full intensity when your legs are sore. I don’t see a problem with that, at least in my experience.
First off, congratulations on losing all that weight. What did your diet look like to lose all the weight?
You should be fine doing cardio. 20-30 minutes on the elliptical machine should be good. If you can’t get to the gym, take a walk outside for an hour, that should be sufficient.

Are you referring to the elliptical machine?
