Training Split A Different Way

I was speaking with a division I strength coach at a major university about his football S & C program. He mentioned that they don’t do the normal push/pull or upper/lower split, but instead split between speed and strength systems of the body. For example they tailor their conditioning and weight room work so that they hit plyos and O lifting variations on the same day. The next day they will do slower movements, ie squat, and do longer sprints. I just thought it was interesting and would like to read everyone’s two cents.
