Training Personal Records Part 4

Pulled 475x5 @ 155 last night. Finally back to repping triple body weight. First time pulling from the floor since the surgery.

134.5 kg clean (296 pounds)

Squatted 430lbs for a set of 4 last night. Probably could have done 5 but this was really the first set of squats since the surgery that actually felt hard, so I played it semi-safe. Plus I was still really sore from Sunday’s deadlift session. Body weight is 154lbs. 4 weeks out from comp.

kind of an automatic PR, since I don’t do these. 405 here. Had more in the tank but no reason to do more.

Hit 550x12 Touch and Go Deadlifts on my last set today…I think it is a PR, but I’m honestly not positive about that.

Hit a 1RM PR on all 4 main lifts of 5/3/1 this week:

Press - 195#
Deadlift - 425#
Bench - 265#
Squat - 405#

These are all at 200# body weight (sooo close to body weight overhead), 50 years old.

Squatted 500lbs for 15 Reps today

505lbs x 3 post hip surgery and no strap deadlift PR - this is the first time I’ve ever tried pulling anything over 500 for more than a single rep without straps. Currently 6.5 months post surgery. Things are coming along nicely. 4 weeks out from competition.

685x1 (video) after 650x2…maxed 2 weeks ago only got 645 so 40lb pr somehow.

2 weeks out one more semi heavy session before this meet. This is 560 and 605 self wrapped on the 560 and Brittany helped on the 605. Feeling strong and better in the wraps after last week. I know this is nto technically an “max weight” But I have never moved these numbers with this speed, tech, un peaked and body weight @214

My friend Benny & I along with the whole Metroflex Plano Powerlifting Team killed it yesterday at NASA Dallas Unequipped Nationals 2015!

3 weeks out from my first post surgery competition. I tripled 455 in my last squat session. The strength is definitely coming back, I just haven’t quite gotten my form re-grooved. I misgrooved the first rep so badly I basically hit it leaning entirely on my right leg. Body weight is 153.

56 inch box jump. Lifting is tapering down as I prepare for my competition so I’ve been having some fun on my “off” days. This is the highest box I’ve ever jumped on. 7 months post hip surgery. I’d like to see if I can make it onto a 60" box at some point.

Deadlifted 500lbs x 5

Squatted 475 for a double last night. Pre-surgery PR is 3 reps with this weight. My technique was awful last night; I cut both reps high and got pulled onto my toes coming out of the hole each time but somehow I still grinded out 2 ugly reps. I just couldn’t find my groove. This is only the 12th squat session I’ve done since the surgery and is the heaviest weight I’ve had on my back since last December so in spite of the flaws, I’m happy with it.

375 x1
working to 4 plates… 5’ 7" 170 lbs

635lb pause Squat, 675b regular squat, 550x10. My depth was a little high today but I’ll take it…

Hit a 520 Front Squat this week: 520lb Front Squat PR with Commentary and Conditioning - YouTube

Doesn’t look like much posting in here anymore but I hit a 645 paused Squat yesterday, then chased it with a squat set of 515lbs for 15 reps…Then i died.
