Training Personal Records Part 3

couple days ago…I tied an all time rep record in the conventional deadlift with 225kg x 11.

I did 225 x 11 in my 20’s. but they were completely RAW…

the one I did the other night I used a belt and straps. so not a real rep record, but at my age (43) I’ll take it. [/quote]

edit. just got the results of my MRI. apparently I hit that 225kg x 11 with a bulged cervical disc (c6-c7) compressing my spine.

so I will definitely take that as a record.

Thanks Dixie. I’m looking to pull 755-760lbs at the Southwest Regionals here on 7/30/11. I may take it up some more because the suit and the training are going great. I’m trying to see how close I can get to 800lbs or get 800lbs by year’s end.

I got a meet that same day. Best of luck, I look forward to seeing your PR in here after it.

RAWLLL SQUATZZZZ… 605 for 5, I was very happy with this because I partially tore my biceps femoris and adductor magnus in April. It still hurts and is still tighter than a dolphins butthole but it is getting better:

365 bench, 30lb PR from the start of the training cycle.

655 deadlift, 50lb PR from start of the training cycle (12 weeks). Thanks to Josh Bryant for the programming. All I need to do is test the squat now.

Hit a 200kg (440lb) squat last week, that’s 20kg in 3 weeks from the Smolov base cycle! Black magic!!

I’ve recently hit a number of PRs and felt like talking about them so here they are:

Bench: 405x1, 315x12, 225x30.
CG Bench: 315x6
Incline Bench: 315x6
Floor Press: 315x5
Below parallel Squat: 480x1, 440x3, 405x5
Deadlift: 585x1, 500x5, 405x12
OH Press: 250x1, 225x4

All presses done as full range of motion, “legal” lifts;
raw lifts (belt only);
232 BW.

7/21 Edit:
2x495x1 slightly below parallel squat

ATG squat-315
Trap bar dead lift-445
Bench-255

Just did 275 on pin press about 6" off the chest, which has always been my sticking point. Looking for 285-295 next week. Hopefully this will help me blast out 285 on a full ROM when it comes time to max out again.

Luke

hit a couple PR’s tonight. it was good timing since i’m starting a 12 week peaking cycle for bench and deadlift leading into our next meet.

reverse band deadlift-
785x1

805x1 - all time weight PR.

it was a good night. hot as hell though.

Hit the 405 on bench tonight, finally got the bar path down so it didn’t hurt. No video, but now that I know i can do it, I’ll get one up.

Jesus Christ that looked easy and those are single ply? When’s the next geared meet you are doing man I’m mildly afraid of what you could pop up with wraps and a suit.
