Training Personal Records Part 3

425x1 Deadlift PR. Also pulled 405 with ease.

local raw competition today, hit:
Squat 550
Bench 445
Dead 600(had more in tank but was third lift.)

thats a 30lb pr on the squat

Not much to write home about from this past week. Hit a 330x5 low box squat and 375x6 RDL however. Also strict curled 135 for the lulz.

you tryna get arms like me brah

lol… 115x3x5 bicep curl and 405x1 deadlift after doing 375x1x5, I feel like a total wimp :frowning:

Benched 275 for a triple last night. It was 1 rep PR over last time, so I’ll take it. Looking for 285 for a double next week (which would tie a PR), and then 295 for a double the week after that which would be a big PR, too.

I will repost this here - I posted in the wrong place before, not PRs per se:

I thought I’d chuck up a couple of my recent vids, haven’t updated the log for a while - here are my most recent pulls/ pressing session:

Spock,

You can rep 85% of your max for 10, after just working up to your max? That is crazy…I don’t think I can get 85% of my max for more than, say, 6 reps?

narrow grip 1 board

2RM…230 lbs

1RM…245 lbs

I think this is pretty common and there was an article not too long about it. I was doing Josh Bryant’s programming and he had a big down set of 10 after heavy 1-3 rep efforts.

I was surprised at the amount of weight I could get the 10 for in the downset and it was hard, but the bar just kept coming back up.

YEAH! I could tell the 115 set was gonna be awesome cause it felt so crazy light after the 135, ha!

I’ve always wanted to be confident at the 35lb plates, now I gotta get strong at 135 so i can rep it too, woot !

u am no reel supah saund

This week’s training:

355 lb squat for a triple
210 lb push press for a triple (cheap as hell but it counts for something)
470 lb conventional deficit deadlift (more in tank)
245 lb paused front squat for a triple (first time pausing these)
275 lb front squat (another stupid cheap PR…had more)

I’ve seen a couple of coaches touch on this. For some reason, women tend to be able to get more reps with a given % of their max. I’m sure there are a thousand factors involved

If I recall correctly women have less fast twitch fibers then men so the disparity between maximal force output and what you’d be able to do for more reps is less.

First week back on 5/3/1 almost in the books, just have squats left on monday. Thus far Ive tied some old PR’s and hit a big PR of 345x10 deadlift.

Strict OHP of 175 for a triple.
