Need some serious training guidence for a client that I am currently training. I’ll save you the long explanation of how we met or why we even started training in the first place, but I will fill you in with every thing else.
At this point she has chosen to take a new direction with her training and give serious competition another shot. Let me clarify this as a women’s fitness competition. It is taking place in June 08, about 5 1’2 months from now. Again I’ll cut to the chase a little bit here, but right now she is in great shape. For her size she able to handle a lot and really is committed to her training. Diet is bang on! Sleeping patterns are Bang on! Flexibility is excellent. And her level of commitment in the gym is there. Like I said, she’s giving this all another shot so her preparation for this kind of event is familiar to say the least.
Now I’m not familiar with her past trainer but I’ve taken a look at her training logs and it seems to consist of a lot of basic bodybuilding mixed with some plyometrics. Some sparse evaluations were also included (i.e. timed flexed arm hangs, v-sits, etc. etc.). Really, all of it… wasn’t new to me.
However, I know there is some better stuff out there, (especially browsing around on T-Nation for months and months) that I can get her into but I need a little direction. I have the flexibility of training with her outside the gym too, which I think could be very productive but again, here I am a little lost.
Anyway, basically I’m just trying to take her training to a new level. She’s ready for it. Now I’m on a bit of a mission to put her through some serious training.
Here are some of her stats:
Age: 28
H: 5’5
W: Approx. 120lbs
BF: Approx 14%
Oh, yeah and one of her major goals is to be able to complete a one arm push-up. As it was one of the main reasons she placed 2nd in this competition the last time around.
Really any sort of direction you could give me would help. NOTHING is off limits here.
Thanks T-Nation,
Crusher
