Training 4 Days On, 4 Days Off?

I was reading your boring but big and I was wondering about training days with my work schedule. I work 4 twelve hour shifts , and then have 4 off. Should I do all 4 days in a row, or should I try doing the two upper days. And rotate the dead and squat every other week. If I do all 4 in a row I will have 4 days whenI work to recover .

Thank you for your time.

4 days in a row is not optimal but it is doable. Life has a funny way of making training inconvenient. The only option is to adapt to your situation. Plenty of people have thrived in less than optimal situations. Just make sure you are eating well and recovering.

Thank you for your reply. Do you think the three day with rotating deads and squats would be better?

If I had a four day block to train, I would go upper/lower/off/upper and use your idea of rotating the dead and squat every other week. But then it also depends on what kind of work you do and whether or not it beats you up to the point that you can really only train two days out of that four and still recover.

Didn’t think of splitting it like that, but that’s a solid idea. I would still probably go upper/lower/off/upper then lower/upper/off/lower but to each their own.

My job is easy on my body. More mental with directing people and 12 hour shifts.

Get the work in. That’s what I recommend.

Thank you again everyone for your replies!!!

Check out the 75/85…

I’m doing 5/3/1 for mass for PL which is similar to BBB, just started a new job & due to time constraints (get to see kids Wednesday, Fridays & weekends. Don’t sacrifice that for anything) I just change do the days I can & follow on. The occasional extra rest has shown a big increase in all lifts. On occasions kids plans change so I may only get four dates straight to train, I’ll still keep 3 days between upper or lower workouts for recovery cause that’s what I’ve found works best for me.

However you have to get it done, just get it done.

You were correct Mr. Wendler. Did bench day today and went 260x5, 300x5, and 340x5. Then 5x10 with 205. Can already feel it!!! Good shit!!!
