Total Testosterone Dosage vs Increase of Testosterone Dosage

I am going to do a cycle of Anavar or Winstrol with my TRT soon and people are telling me to increase my TRT dosage to 200mg for it, which got me thinking because I never stated what my normal dosage was. I’ve been on 100mg for 3 years and when I started I assumed that was what most people did only to find out some people’s dosage is as high as 250mg per week or anything in between can be considered standard depending on the person.

So let’s say someone’s dosage was as low as 50mg per week. Yes, I understand that is low but actually my friend had to drop down to that due to high blood pressure. He still got good benefits out of it and felt great. Everyone is different, so let’s stick with my friend as an example. Take out the high blood pressure: What if he increased it up to 150mg, which is obviously 3 times his normal dosage. Compare that to if his normal dosage was 100mg and he increased it to 200mg which is obviously is 2 times more. Which option would he see the greater difference? Is getting to at least 200mg that magical number (multiple people here have told me this #) or is how much more that you increase the dosage more important? If it’s the increase then if I didn’t want to increase it to 200mg (I have high red blood cells and need phlebotomies regularly so I don’t want to do that) then would it make any sense or do anything positive for me to drop down to 50mg for an extended period of time and increase it to 150mg once I start the cycle? I’m on a strict calorie deficit anyways getting my body fat way down first before I start the Anavar or Winstrol to get the most out of them, so I’m not packing on muscle at the moment anyways. Or would staying at 100mg and increasing it to 150mg do the exact same thing?

Maybe it’s a stupid question and I apologize if it is, but I thought it was interesting. Thanks

If you’re able to increase your TRT dosage at will, it is not TRT.

I think to better understand the question, understanding how you respond to gear is needed first IMO. If you do fine at 100mg (total T levels ~900-1100), then you’re probably going to see about double that if you double your dose. No different than if you went from 50mg to 100mg - your T levels would likely increase proportionately (other hormonal factors notwithstanding).

I don’t see a reason why you would change Test dosage while adding Var or Winny.

Not a stupid question but there is no definitive answer. Just because 100mg gives you “X” T levels that doesn’t mean 200mg will give you “2X”. But generally yes doubling your Test dose will increase your levels significantly. That doesn’t mean you are going to necessarily put on a ton of muscle by doing it. I’ve found going from low T to in range TRT made a huge difference. As I increase dosage the returns in muscle do increase but are diminishing proportionally faster than the dose increase.

Plenty of people are on TRT through real doctors and play with their dosing. All that matters is when they pull bloods you’re in the happy spot.

So you’re saying your doc gives you enough extra that you could up your dose - and they doesn’t ask questions? or are you saying you can just pull your prescription early and they don’t pay attention to how frequently you fill it?

They don’t give you juuuust enough to take your exact amount. I received the same amount of test when I was prescribed 125mg/wk and when I was prescribed 200mg/wk.

Can you run an IFBB level blast? No. Can you go a little over your dose and get into Supra physiological levels? Yes.

Once you’re an established patient and “dialed in”. It’s common to go months between blood work. Plenty of time to play with your dose, up or down, and get back into the acceptable TT range your doctor would be happy seeing.

Like any other prescription you can’t get it early.

I promise to only use this information for educational resources

Guilty as well here. But I’ll openly admit it’s not TRT anymore. It’s a blast or permablast.

Agree, but that’s not what we were talking about. Or at least not what I was talking about and I didn’t take his comment that way either.

You lost me… you mean the OP or Andrew?

Andrew

I should probably clarify that I’m not taking anything and don’t intend to for a little while. But I do want to thoroughly understand the ins and outs of this process before jumping into the pool. My levels are low (335 total) but I don’t want to get into it while I still have school to balance along with work and a young family. I also don’t want to abuse anything in a way that would have a significant impact on health, but I believe it’s important to be as well educated on this as I can be.

Wasn’t planning on the response turning the direction it did, yet here we are lol.

Felt weird not providing context

Wanna_be is correct. I take 100mg per week as my regular dosage from my doctor. I’ve been on it for 3 years, so it’s very easy to build up enough “extra” to increase my dosage for a certain period of time if I wanted to. Then I would be back to having just enough to get me through week to week with a couple weeks extra just in case there’s a shipping problem or whatever else. Just to be smart.

I’ve never increased my dosage before. Like I stated I don’t want to go up to 200mg as my red blood cells get high at just the 100mg. But would 150mg do much or should I just stick to the normal dosage? I could get my phlebotomy a week early.

Im sure it will give you a little edge, but I don’t think it would be dramatic. On the flip side there is likely very little risk in trying. If you were going to run an oral then bumping test up makes sense.

Oh ok I see now. At any rate @wanna_be is correct in that it’s easy to adjust your dose slightly with most clinics and that’s even if you don’t go black market. Hell … I’ve built up extra test supply just by the fact they let you refill a little earlier than needed half the time but only by a week or so. As he stated it’s still a script so flexibility is limited but it’s there. Now if you supplement black market then you have time between labs to adjust back down to levels the doc would be happy with. Either way IMO I’d wise to have a script in the USA.

My personal opinion is that these “winstrol or anavar” with trt ideas are lame.

I know its not all black and white, but lets be real - its not all fucking shades of gray also. And its when you are in these shades of gray is when you dont get much.

So lets get a few terms straight :
TRT - test dosage prescribed by doctor for health or wellbeing purposes.
Blast - whatever steroid amounts needed for best results
Cruise - test dosage thats ran for a longer period of time to decrease the damage done by blasting but high enough to maintain as much blast gains as possible.

TRT with anavar or winstrol is just moronic idiotic blast. Its not enough to give good gains, but it is enough to jerk your cholesterols around for no good reason.
Even if you would blast enough to get some gains out of it(not winstrol or anavar) if you plan on going back on lower TRT end, you will lose those gains so why would you even consider to blast?

So it comes down to 2 things :
1)If a person is not willing or able to CRUISE on a dose thats necessary to MAINTAIN blast gains, where is the point to blast?
2)Out of all possible blast options, adding a bit of orals probably gives you 5% gains and 100% side effects. So even if you would be up for cruising, you need to study on how to blast because whatever you plan, works for females mostly, not males.

Your FT is going to be so much higher while on the orals (if you dose your TRT properly). So in that case doing nothing with your dose is going to be like increasing your dose. Anyway, I think we’re playing with such small amounts here and such small changes in hormone levels that either road you chose is going to lead to the same place

I was curious if you could break down a cruise more as it seems like what I would like to do but I am unfamiliar with it. Lower dose longer for less dramatic but more sustainable gains? Thanks

A cruise is a lower dose bridge between larger doses, to give your body some rest, to rest yourself mentally and just maintain, and normalize your bloodwork, check your health and plan your future athletic goals.
Cruise dose depends on your size and what you run to gain.
For example, some people do it like - blast on around a gram of shit total for 3-4 months, then cruise on like 200mgs of test for 3-4 months.
Bigger guys would blast on 1,5-2 grams for like 9 months, then cruise on 300-500 for 3 months.
The longer the cruise the better it is for health but worse for gains and vice versa, so it all depends on your goals and risks you are willing to take.
I blasted for like 18months and then cruised for around a year. Such long cruise wasnt necessary for me, but i just enjoyed the idea of using so little and just not giving a fuck, hah.
