A recent article in Muscle & Fitness talkes about the top 10 Supplements. Some I use and some I don’t. I’m curious what the T-Nation group has to say about using the following and what they use.

Seems like I have been seeing a lot of people that like Glutamine anymore. I wonder why the sudden interest?[/quote]
Glutamine was first really popular around 97/98 and then kind of died down. I am not too familiar with it the negative info on it, but have heard some are down on supplementing with it. I don’t buy it as a stand alone anymore considering you get it in your proteins and Surge.

I can get a jug of glutamine for 10 dollars at wal-mart. I wonder what glutamine does, and if it would be worthwhile to take?
Also, why the fuck is green tea on there? I drank 4 cups of green tea for a week straight, and I noticed absolutely no difference. Nothing. Couldn’t leap tall buildings, couldn’t lift anvils overhead by the horn, and my buns didn’t become made of steel. It didn’t even turn my piss yellow, centrums at least do that.

Glutamine is an amino acid. The standard school of thought is that it aids recovery and boosts immune function. It is actually used in hospitals I believe with burn victims to aid in the healing process. Like I said before it is found in most proteins and in Surge, but you can also buy it as a stand alone. I would be wary of anything that you can get a jug of for ten bucks.
Green tea isn’t a magical compound. It has been shown to slightly help with metabolism and fat burning. It’s for those that are trying to build the best environment for health and fat loss. For those that believe in it’s benefits. You aren’t going to get a horse kick type of feel or effect from it.
