I don’t do barbell military presses. I had shoulder discomfort from it and when I rehabbed with P/T and corrected some bad lifting habits the issues subsided. BB MP’s are still uncomfortable.

However, I regularly press 120’s db’s shoulder press and can do 4 plates with HS shoulder press just fine.

I recently met up with “Counting Beans” and we did a shoulder workout. He did seated military bb presses. I did one set - a warmup set with not much weight at all - and said “That’s it for me, I’ll spot you”. I’m not used to the movement and it was uncomfortable and I’m not willing at this time to ‘work in’ that movement because I’m growing without it and I don’t see the benefit at this time.

CB also started with lat raises, which I usually do mid-workout. That brought all my other numbers down because it was different.

PX is obviously a big dude and lifts more than most people here, but that he (or anyone) is instantly proficient in every single movement there is. We all have to acclimate to new movements or workouts. Shorter rest periods? Pure hell at the start.
lol, you nicked your chin on the warmups and I knew you were done, lol. I was gonna tell the story but…

Anywho… I was all out of sorts that workout. New gym, new person to lift with, 35lbs plates. I feel like it would take me a session or two just to feel comfortable enough to push like I normally would.

Eh…
True story! I prefer to do things that won’t break my face.
Probably be a good idea to not do Facebreakers then, though it is a hell of a burn.
Ironically, I love “skull crushers”.

“No!!! Not the faaaace!!”
Pfft, who needs a skull, specially when you got a face like yours.

Skullcrushers 1, Facebreakers 0
A few months ago a buddy of mine and I were doing skullcrushers when he lost the bar and it came crshing down on his nose and I said “So that’s where they get the name”.

“CT looks fucking awesome, he can do what he wants.” Well, that includes inviting X to train with him in Colorado.

X has me on ignore I rarely post anything about him anymore. However, everything I said in my third post in this thread is true. In the main, I’m disappointed that he has been too proud to post or even take pictures of himself for critique which has allowed such glaring weak points to go unfixed for 20 years. If he had been a little more humble and done that he could have the physique of a competitive BBer.

Sorry, when you crown yourself king of a BBing forum and think you know everything I better be fucking impressed with how you look. The advanced guys will understand what I’m talking about upon viewing X in action, the noobs will nut ride harder.

X what did you think of the prowler? …I’m making my own out of some wood this week

It’s a shame because I respect and enjoy reading posts from all of these guys, (waylander, austin and px) yet posts with unprovocated flaming shows insecurity or maybe some scars from past e-arguments. Either way, grow up guys. Your ages really show with posts like these. Especially with how fuckin nice and humble X appears to be in the livespill vids.

I am sure the critics will love today’s session. Much more to hate on.

It’s easier to put the critical eye on others. I guess I just don’t understand why you’re so worried about someone else who doesn’t have any effect on your life? You’re better than that man and even if you’re right, it still just makes you look bitter.

nothing to do with X using light weights, but he does not have a particularly impressive physique, and carries a lot of bodyfat. he behaves on these forums like he is a bodybuilding veteran when in reality countless other people on and off of here have achieved more in this pursuit.

he does appear to be a very nice guy in the vids, but behaves like a spoilt bully on the forums.
He looks exactly like he has looked in every avatar picture he has posted of himself. How could you not have known what he looks like “in real life”? There are 20k pictures of him right beside his posts on this forum.

One other thing thats a general observation- X isn’t gassed up on a gram or 2 of test like some of the other folks around here have admitted that they are. Lets compare apples to apples here. X has outstanding size, and he has done it without gear. Keep things in perspective with the critics and their physiques.
Modok, this isn’t even about size at this point so the whole gear debate is pretty much pointless unless you are telling me you can’t build a proportioned physique without steroids? Size is only 1 piece of the puzzle in bodybuilding.

You don’t think it’s funny that Prof X said he had a better and more developed back than Ronnie Rockel, ya know the Olympia competitor, even though he’s never taken a picture of it before? And then for CT tell him his back should be much bigger in that last back training video you don’t find that ironic?

His avatar pics always showcase front delt, traps, biceps and chest. His strong points. That’s all we’ve ever seen of him. For some reason he’s totally neglected, or so it seems, medial delt, rear delt, triceps and lats. I don’t even know how his legs look. And all of this because he doesn’t want to post full body physique pics on here for critique and now he’s going to have to struggle to fix those things as a natty in his 30’s because he didn’t want to post bodybuilding mandatories 10 years ago. Good luck!

Dude, if he was better than that, he wouldn’t be acting that way over and over.

You all cut that guy a huge amount of slack for some reason considering most of his posts.

I’ve had him on ignore for quite a while now so I can only see his posts if you quote them.

I guess I just don’t understand why someone who considers themselves a very accomplished bodybuilder and knocks everyone smaller or leaner then him has let this happen to themselves when it could have been fixed years ago had they been more humble. I know it doesn’t affect me but I’m disappointed, sorry.

But yah, I’ve made my point so I’ll let this die down

<3

If the critics wanted you to be more humble, what more can they ask? You are basically humbling yourself and broadcasting your weaknesses in front of a huge audience. I already wrote this in the spill, but you put a lot of the heavy steroid users on this board to shame. You are also still carrying a lot of fat too, so you will only look better and better.

I’m not exactly sure how Waylander is bitter? You have to admit X comes off as two entirely different personas from the video and the forum. In the video he didn’t make a peep and seemed to be a very quiet/nice guy, but on the forums he’s one of the most active posters in just about every subject.

He’s obviously come a long way since his high school days and nobody is trying to say he hasn’t made great progress, but I think at times he can be way over zealous in the way that he posts and treats other members on the forum. Respect is a two way street and although not everyone is going to like you regardless of what you do, you have to ask yourself why so many people seem to have issue with X?

How is it surprising to anyone that people are different in real life from their internet personas? Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if many are almost opposite in their manners and behaviors (introverts who get a chance to act out etc.)
nik133 wrote:

Dude, people have acted that way since my very first post. People act like that in real life too. Most people in the areas I frequent tend to know me. I tend to stand out, whether online or in real life. All you have seen in the videos is me taking instruction. I do that well. I’m a soldier and grew up in a very strict household. The one thing I know how to do is shut up and listen when I need to.

Trust me, if this were “my” show, I would be way more animated.
Professor X wrote:

Nothing to hate on man, you’ve got years of haters all lined up to talk shit about the smallest imperfection that you show.

You went into this knowing that CT is going to throw stuff at you that you haven’t done in ages and that you will be showing far from a top performance, that takes serious balls. If anything I am just as impressed as I would of been if you went in there repping 405 on the overhead press (not that my opinion means shit).

If I was in your position I am not sure I would of had the self confidence to do what you are doing now, and I know the people hating sure as shit wouldnt!

I’d kill to be training with CT in Colorado though, enjoy yourself.

Thank you for participating and allowing yourself to be video taped.

Very informative videos. It’s just great to see CT talking X through the movements and giving great insight into what muscles they are working and why the exercises are done in that specific order.

How’s that altitude affecting your recovery?

Has to be a drastic change coming from nearly sea level.

I was wondering the same thing.

I recently went out to Denver in May. We went and did some cardio training up at Red Rock (fucking beautiful.) That’s around 6,000 feet or so. Coming from about 800 feet above sea level here, to that, was insanely brutal. I really didn’t notice a huge difference as far as weight-lifting was concerned, but cardio was treacherous.

I’m not sure how high they’re sitting over there in CO Springs.

Same here. My company has offices in Ft. Collins and Broomfield (near Denver). Coming from sea level, I just about heave the whole week training while I’m there.
