To Professor X

It looked really uncomfortable to get into position while pushing back the seat and turning your head to make room for the bar. Why didn’t you switch to standing barbell presses, prof?

My first concern was not re-injuring what I just recovered from. I didn’t get a chance to try out a different movement or to even try that one before the cameras were rolling. When you see me, that is literally the first time I am doing that movement in about 10 years. I would usually not set up the bench like that. I used to use a bench with a low back so I could lean back over it.

If we had spent even 10min before that trying out the exercise I am sure it would have been fixed. When you see me walk in, that is me walking in for the first time that day. I didn’t even know what we were training until he told me.

That is why it looks awkward. I need to be under the bar almost to unrack it the way I usually do…not inches back away from it.

I didn’t do it standing because I had NEVER done it standing but had at least done it seated.

Meh, haters gotta hate.

Prof X, it was good to see you in ‘real life’ You seemed camera shy.

When you’re not used to a certain type of training, movement, techniques, equipment, of course you’d look like a noob, haha.

Props to you for going out there in front of the camera and showing us some of your weaknesses. You’re human after all

One other thing thats a general observation- X isn’t gassed up on a gram or 2 of test like some of the other folks around here have admitted that they are. Lets compare apples to apples here. X has outstanding size, and he has done it without gear. Keep things in perspective with the critics and their physiques.

True.

Goes grab a Budweiser

I’m really just trying to let CT lead. If you want me to speak up more, I can.

No… no no… don’t speak. Just… just train

A seated barbell press? A new and unfamiliar movement? For someone who claims to have been lifting for 20 years (despite not having much to show for it)?
What’s next? Squats are new and unfamiliar?

That’s like someone who claims to be a top chef not knowing how to cook a fucking omolette.
I HATE it when people do this. ^^^ They make an analogy that doesn’t take into account any other variables than the one that they are trying to prove, so it looks like a solid comparison. While it is very effective against dumb people, it looks dumb when used like this.

The comparison is more like this: A person is a top chef, however, they haven’t used a basic stove in over 20 years.

Chef=Weightlifer
Basic Stove=Basic movements
The analogy goes down the drain anyway, since apparently he was never a ‘Top Chef’, just claiming to be one.

So we get all these comments ‘So what if he’s weak, this is the bodybuilding forum!’ Does he remotely look like a bodybuilder?
Maybe we should rename this section ‘The Tubby Unathletic Gymrat’ section.

Credibility is shot. Guess I should always be more critical about the validity of forum posters from now on.

I don’t see what the big deal is about the weight. I’ve been using more machines the past couple months to isolate week points of growth, and my free weight lifts have suffered a noticeable amount. I can’t imagine what years of training on machines would do. Hell, to be able work 225 free weight the first time in years is pretty impressive IMO.

Why? What relevance in life would you need to know his first name? Not coming to his defense lord knows X can defend himself. But why cant he have or anybody have some privacy as a professional?
Because it’s 2011 and this is the internet. Duh.

It would be funnier if CT switched back and forth between ‘Fro-presser X’ and the other iterations of the name that came with the avatars. lol
Sorry Bones I forget and I guess the face palm is a big insult for the younger members.

Mr. whatever your name is and your gold medal avi, I apologize. I thought this topic has been covered many, many, many, many times. So for you to bring it up with what, some small hope that since you were asking X would reveal it to you?

Maybe the real question is, do you look like a bodybuilder.

OR, maybe we can ask why you ignore that CT is using the same weight.

I get it, you are here to talk shit and this will likely be the only opportunity in your life today where anyone pays attention to you. But please, at least be logical to some degree.

I was 257lbs when I left Houston. I am 5’10". If you think that equals “tubby unathletic gymrat” so be it.

I hope you get more attention today.

It looks like you need it.

Yeah and with that awkward setup too.

liked very much videoz with CT&X,Professor gets a very nice body (no omo pls),shoulders&traps are HUGE,the fact that he is not still leaner (but NOT fat!) make him looking “smaller” in video, put him close -in real life- to a well build guy and you see how fucking BIG is PX!

poor men who are arguing against PX,well, grapes are still to high…really look for others PX videos, nice work&efforts, about “light weights” used: IF just swithching (with same multi-joint excercise-for example, bench) from a RP set to a 8x3 causes changes (different loads, rep speed, rest pauses) and you felt sore -after 24h- because of different FT fibers involved just try to imagine switching form heavy loads, longer rest pauses and MJ excercises to lighter loads,3ple supersetted…pls, dudes, turn on your brain.

Blah blah blah blah

Are any of your 88 posts not troll nonsense?

‘Maybe the real question is, do you look like a bodybuilder.’

I’m not the guy with 9 years on a message board and a 40k long controversial holier than thou posting history.
And yeah, I could probably do better on a stage. My gut isn’t as wide as my lats.

‘OR, maybe we can ask why you ignore that CT is using the same weight.’

Because

A) He is clearly using it for demonstrative purposes (He was breezing with the weight you were shitting yourself with)

and most importantly for a bodybuilding forum

B) He has a good body.

Nice job on the loose trigger happy ad hominems there. Looks like you are as skilled at rhetoric as you are at seated barbell presses.

LOL at breezing through the weight. I was there with him and he was straining as well. He has also done these movements before.

No, you aren’t the guy who has been here for a decade.

Gee…maybe that’s why you aren’t here right now.
