I haven’t seen many vids of Cutler using heavy ass weights.
lol.?
Not really, legs and shoulder vids (that I have seen) were lots of pre-exhaust work so weights were lower. Maybe his personality makes the vids boring and I never watched anymore…
There was a thread on here (somewhere!) about it, maybe they were pre-contest… Anyway dude is huge and successful, so it doesn’t really matter!
Anyway back to the topic of CC trying to help X… Wait that was the topic?!
well done, good work, high intensity, when you hit the prowler looks like a lineman on fire, really liked the video,it looks like changing the routine (from heavier loads&machines to lighters free weight supersetted ) is due to weight loss?? your form on sumos was good, did CT put you on sumos instead of standard dls because of your fenotype or to put some enphasis on glueteus/hammies??
about your injuried tris,i’m on same boat, last 2 years just did close grip presses but in last two weeks i swithced to kalifornia press (eccentric like a french press, concentric like a close grip press) and it doesn’t hurt at all while using good loads (for french pressing,I mean).

keep pushing.
Mike/Europe,not against PX
Thanks man.
As far as sumos, I don’t think CT even knew what we were going to do before we did it. I honestly think he thought some of that as I was walking in. Deadlifts felt good. I just hadn’t done them in a while.
As far as triceps, yeah, my elbow is on fire right now. I usually warm up a lot doing extensions before any chest work. It gets more blood in the area and I can usually train normally after that with minimal discomfort.

You are a persistent guy I agree with your answer but when I write I am refering to a drug free lifter not a pro bodybuilder and not all pro body builders are obsessed with machines later on in ther career eg ronnie cole man branch warren. I will say hammer strength + modern day steroids is what makes a modern day pro bodybuilder. But I like most people on here are drug free and I do not care for the modern day pro bodybuilders philosophy.
Come on man, you can’t seriously believe that. The “hammer strength + modern day steroids” argument you are putting forth is ridiculous any way you look at it.
How so. Last time I checked many years ago when I had a interest in pro bodybuilding most of of the pros were using some sort of machine wherever it be hammer strength or cybex etc. Hardly any of modern day pros build there late career whith freeweight.
@X: Seems like you are doing a good job of following CT’s advice so far, from the few quotes I read from your talk with him, particularly in regards to how you respond to people. I think it’s gonna be good for you. It makes you more likeable, which may not matter to you, but I also think it will do a lot for your confidence and self-esteem.
If you’re letting someone’s criticism bother you enough to get in to it with them, it makes it seem like you aren’t completely confident that they’re wrong. Honestly, I would take it further and just not respond to a lot of people, at all. I think it’s cool that you’re trying to explain the training to people, but if somebody is just babbling about how you’re weak, or how they’re super strong and hardcore…who cares? I would hope that if someone came up to you in real life and said some of the stupid crap they say on here, you’d just laugh it off.
Just keep letting stuff roll off your back man. Personally, I’m impressed already.

Just curious but I get the impression that you’re very concerned about strength. How much do you lift for the big 3? You have no pictures posted and its impossible for me to place a relevency on what you might consider “Bull Strong”.
I still don’t get how/why people are still questioning strength during circuit training.
I’ve done complexes with 225 - squat/dl/bench/push-press that have left me completely drained and had much more rest between sets than what I understand these guys did.
Meat - If you’re still reading through this nonesense, I tried those Zerchers this morning. Worked up to 225 (all I could cradle and stand due to forearm pain) and used them as my warmup for back squats. I loved that I didn’t have any lower back pain but struggled to feel them in the quads. Probably due to the weight. I’ll keep them for a while as they did seem to help my flexibility. Us tall guys have a problem sitting into the box.

I think this plays into a lot of the issue.
Most people are reactionary and will see their OWN faults in others well before they recognize the weakness in their own armor.
The internet compounds the issue by allowing people to speak without recourse or the moral backbone it takes to be confrontational in a face-to-face situation.
I’m not really talking about Way here either (just for one example). I’m speaking more along the lines of the faceless (and a few with a face) hoards bringing nothing to the table, and people like ramblingscott… Thing is with Way, yeah he is busting balls and being a prick about it, but if X came in a year from now looking like a larger, black model of Stu, I will bet he would be the first to give X a lot of respect and celebrate with him.
Way is being a dick with a purpose in mind, a whole lot of other people are in here to shit on a man to make themselves feel better about their own insecurities.

Sorry the people on this forum are fucking relenless. I made a couple of comments a couple of pages back and people are at you. I feel the need to justify myself when people quote my comments and misinterpreted what I am trying to say.

This typically means: I’ve made no progress, just saying…
But for 280lbs @ 6’2" I hope you are Way’s size, for your sake…
In the past you’ve downplayed the importance of deadlifts (and all variations) in training for hypertrophy. Not that it was a useless exercise but the movement’s importance is overstated. Now that your lagging bodyparts have been identified as your back and hamstrings, and you are deadlifting to help bring them up, has your opinion changed?
And in case you need clarification, this is not a personal attack.
