And then post my SSN only to realize TOO LATE that you are in fact, Admiral Ackbar?

Hey thanks…

You’re a bright person, who seems to have his “ducks in a row” so to speak. It just kills me to see someone not “get it” when it comes to this life experience thing.

I remember a back and forth with Mr. Popular about the same type deal. He kept talking about how he was going to be in 10 years, and he is bright also, so you hate to see someone completely miss the point.

And the point is, you are trying to tell people that have been both 22 and 32 what being 32 is like when you have only been 22.

Life is a pain in the balls man. Enjoy college as much as you possibly can, because once it is over, shit really does change. And I never believed I would be different either. The reason people “jumped at you” is we see ourselves at that age in your posts sometimes, and knowing full well you’ll ignore what we say, lol, because we ignored it when people told us, we say it anyway. Because there aren’t too many days where I don’t look back and wish I shut my fucking mouth and listened once in awhile…

IDK, maybe I misinterpreted your tone, and if that is the case, then my bad. But if one or two of the guys in the early 20s around here is actually listening and takes it to heart, then it was worth the post.
Not to butt in too much on this debate or anything, i can definitely understand your guys reasoning for feeling how you do, but i definitely think there was a “misinterpretation of tone” as you put it. I read that post as statechamp playfully pointing out that CT calls him X too, where as others are thinking he doesn’t understand the reasoning behind not wanting to put your name out there.

However i am in that category of “another early 20-something that thinks he has life figured out” so take that for what its worth.

I guess i just dont understand how this little, mostly innocent comment has turned into like a 4 or 5 person argument spanning pages.

Which benefits? Chicks making your sandwiches?

That happens on or around 50-100k a year if dating, and 200+ for married.

If you want blow jobs you best be pulling in 7 figures.

I’m not a big fan of X’s condescending “tone” on the forums either, but I also find myself rooting for the guy. I hope this opportunity in CO gives you a chance to see how you appear to others and what you can do to make your physique the best it can be, or whatever your goals are. Maybe you still don’t care about being lean, but it’s amazing how much a decent level of leanness helps the appearance of one’s physique. and we all want to see you get there.

I’m not criticizing Waylander or anyone else. I was just pointing out that X may have a different perspective on this whole bodybuilding thing. He may not care about weak points…or he might. I’ve never heard him comment on it. But if he doesn’t, it shouldn’t be a referendum on his accomplishments. I don’t give a shit about weak points, and even when I was getting on stage I didn’t give a shit about them. A “completely balanced physique” has never been why I’ve engaged in bodybuilding. I train everything hard, but if something is naturally out of proportion, then it just is. If you look on stage, everyone has something thats just fucking off a little. And walking around town less than zero people have a clue if you are proportioned. You are either a big, muscular, strong looking dude or you aren’t. Unless you are trying to win a title like Stu, or are a fitness model… why really worry about it? Especially at mine and X’s age and level of occupation. Bringing up the tibialis anterior really isn’t high on the priority list nowadays when you have a profession, mortgage to pay, and parents to take care of.
To each their own then, I suppose. All I’m saying is that if you’re in the initial stages of building up your physique, or later on trying to “refine it”, you might want to train some things more often, with more volume, or more intensely than others. I believe there was a T-Cell thread about it…
Yes, most people just see you as big/muscular/lean/hooooooj/etc or not, but I know each time I look in the mirror or see pictures of myself, the weak points jump out and because of this, I train them with the same focus and attention, hoping to improve my physique.

just watched the vids. i was really hoping that CT would incorporate some Zercher lunges or some other variation. that would be very poetic. X and i have always disagreed about the whole machine/free weight thing. hopefully X can now see how important free weights are in creating a phyisique that’s balanced. I have nothing against machines for isolating specific muscles but for injury prevention, flexibility and muscular balance free weights are a necessity.

Also, the conditioning work that they are doing is spot on. My group does prowler pushing/pulling, tire flips and farmers walks routinely. These things allow one to get in better cardiovascular shape, lose fat while still mainitaining (and even gaining) muscular mass.

I really hope he sticks with it. I would love to hear that he went back to wherever he lifts and starts doing standing military presses, walking lunges and even (gasp) deadlifts.

Just want to give out a shoutout to the prof. That leg workout was really brutal and inspiring. Great job in finishing the workout despite the asthma and knee problems. Go prof!

Yes waylander is a dick to X most of the time but his critique on X’s physique was spot on. Whether or not it was constructive criticism or done with malice is irrelevant. Nothing he said was made up and he was 100% accurate.

Not taking anything away from X but i think a lot of guys i guess expected more. I feel like X pretty much shed light on the importance of doing lateral raises and then you see the video and his medial delt is a weak point. Anyways he has great traps and anterior delts.

At this point in this thread i guess he knows what needs to be addressed but it just baffles me that it took this long for him to realize this. i mean you said your chest was a weak point and now it’s one of your strongest body parts. Just not sure why you didn’t realize that for rear delts and triceps so you could address them sooner.

I get caught up in the moment at times and i must admit i was talking to the screen while you were doing lunges. I was like “come on X, straighten your back, bring you knees lower to the ground”… lol I guess i was kinda rooting for you, although i did laugh when you said you need a break because you have asthma…lol

Bodybuilding encompasses a muscular well balanced physique not just size. Hopefully this was a humbling experience for you and you reevaluate your methods of training. I commend you for putting yourself out there especially with your reputation around these boards.

I learn a couple things:

 1. Address weaknesses IMMEDIATELY. I’ve always said that but my argument get countered by bigger guys saying just worry about getting bigger and the imbalance will look less obvious. We now see that’s not the case.

 2. Stick to the basics and free weights as much as you can.
Well said.

I love the standing millitary press would never do it seated. I believe Jim Wendler said once you do not sit down to piss so why do it seated.

The conditioning work is definitely spot on…but doing this stuff with less oxygen is what the challenge is, not just the movements. A lot of what you guys don’t see in the vids is the PACE we are moving at. I see very few people training that way so I am not sure people are correct when they compare the stuff they do at home to what we did here.

I have no problem with leg presses and usually load the machine up…but try doing them in a rotation of sled pulls and deadlifts with very little rest and that leg press becomes a freaking nightmare.

Also, as you could see it isn’t like I didn’t know the form of a deadlift. I just hadn’t done one in a very long time.

My focus to this point was not overall conditioning…and to tell the truth, it is likely one area MOST bodybuilders don’t worry much about until around contest time.

I can definitely see the benefit of that sled as “cardio”.

I know you may have your guys do some of this…but I am pretty sure they would murder you if you did it the way we did it today.

LOL

Thank you. Asthma hadn’t been an issue for me in years. I felt like I was dying a few times.
spar4tee wrote:
So X how have some of the free weight movements worked out for you injury/pain wise? Could you see yourself implementing them over the longterm?
I don’t feel a lot of joint pain now because of the weight we used. Had I done what I usually do, I am sure I would have. What made that work was the pace and rotating these movements almost as one exercise as a whole.

That is something I never did before. I am used to “do a set” then “rest for 2min or more”, then do another set. Even when I started implementing “active rest” a few months back by doing triceps in between biceps work, it was never like this…and truthfully, I doubt most people would push like this if training alone. We went to the point of pain…even if people think those are “baby weights”.

They ain’t so baby when you don’t rest.

All I’ve gotten from him is that it’s somehow wrong for me to state on a public forum that I’m curious about something. I never asked your name. I never put you on the spot or put any pressure on you to do anything. There are people who feel the exact same way as me, that a first name is nothing to hide.

I have my full name posted in my profile. I have never posted anything on this forum that I am ashamed of. I have posted physique photos but they don’t have my face in them. I’m not someone who goes out of his way to say rude things to people.

X, you will have one awesome physique, proportionate or not, if you cut down to a body fat that is universally considered ‘lean’. From the standpoint of a curious kid, I would really like to see that happen. Just please don’t lump me into the group of people that go out of their way to antagonize you. I see the holes in your physique, as others do, just as I see them in myself, but I’m not the one who is going to try to tear you down for it.
Mostly posting to follow this thread.

Aaaaannd to say that im finding it very hard to see why you should be berated for the original post concerning X’s name. You werent rude in any way and didnt come off (in my opinion) as being pushy or persistent in trying to find out what his real name is. I dont understand why this is still being talked about.

Yes, it is somewhat humorous that CT would refer to you by the internet screen name that we all know you by. No, my saying that does not mean i am going to persistently hound you for a first name.
It’s not so funny though. Most of the people who know me call me “X”.

Dude, let me know when you can keep doing that in spite of an injury.

The average person would have quit lifting with the injuries I had. That triceps tear scared the shit out of me when it happened. I thought I would never be able to train again like I had. You don’t just ignore shit like that to make people online happy

That is why some of this criticism is just flat out wrong and off base.

Most people wouldn’t if they knew they would receive the level of criticism I will over this. It is one thing being in a group of other people. It is quite another to already have a persona people pay attention to and then put yourself out there for even more judgment.

A lot of people wouldn’t do that. For instance, I don’t think I have ever seen you post before or if you have, I don’t know your stance on anything. Who is going to judge your personality if they taped you?
