So right now I work at Meijer, nothing crazy just a grocery store. It isn’t the greatest job ever and the pay is dogshit even with overtime
We barely had enough for rent this month, only because I went out on Thanksgiving to make the money for rent yesterday. I do insta cart and door dashing on the side on my days off. So I consider that my second job
They did at least have some stuff left for me including dessert but not even close enough for what I needed lol, I’m just happy to be able to get some food and eat a home cooked meal
Hmm I never heard of that store, must not be in the northeast region. After a quick google search it seems similar to a Walmart.
Soon I’ll be looking for a place to stay too upon graduation. Sometimes I’ll look at the rent for these apartments and ask in myself, “Lol how the hell do you even live?” It seems like you either pay a LOT of money in rent to be safe or a small amount of money to live in a rat roach ghetto shack.
I want these real estate developers to crash and burn lol.
Yep. It’s a fucked situation all around for everyone. You’re right on the dot, you need to trade one or the other, can’t have both these days. Unfortunately our move was really sudden and last minute so we chose our place at face value.
The area we live in really isn’t the greatest. Just a week ago they had wanted posters up for a guy who was involved in a double homicide in the area. 2 weeks before that there was a massive cop chase down a major street we live near, I literally think the dash cam video is on Cop activity.
I bought a Taurus 9MM because of those two incidents. I convinced my girlfriend to take classes with me and she’s using my uncle’s s&w 22. I’m not even going to lie and say I’m not scared, we try not to stay out at night and if we do, way nicer parts than here. No way in hell do we walk at night though. We’re currently looking at a new place though. Hopefully in a few months we’ll be out of here.
It’s crazy to see how the neighbourhood changes. I can drive 5 minutes south and be in the absolute worst worst part of town. I drive 10 minutes north and now we’ve got Corvette Dealerships, and gated communities. What separates north and south is the highway. I don’t understand how you can be so close in the same area and have the quality of life change so drastically. Boggles my mind.
Doesn’t help most places here pay you jack shit for how high the living cost is. It’s like damn, shit living and shit pay (sorry for the rant)

I had a great day today!
I left work early to work on my MEP class group project (which involved a second site visit today to gather information).
I got confirmation that I can start with big general contractor in late August so that means I can go with the electrical sub for the summer which will be June - Early August. I’m glad cause I signed the letter with electrical sub without even knowing if I could be with them during the summer.
Oh and I got stronger too, hooray! Let’s do well next week too.

There are 2 weeks left of this semester. I’m looking forward to the week long Caribbean cruise with my aunts, uncles, and cousins around Christmas time and being with the mechanical subcontractor mid January.
How’s it going bigpappa. To get the lines for my log entries, I just tap the bottom line key thingy a couple times and it automatically creates one long line.
Yeah I’m ready for my exams, I had 2 last week in my real estate and risk management class.
This week I have a group project presentation (Construction MEP Class) and the following week I have 2 more in my other classes (Construction Sustainability and Construction Accounting and Financial Management)
I always end up in the leadership role, although it strokes my ego, it can be annoying with lazy group members.
At least it gives me the chance to practice delegation.
Now when they don’t do there work, I’ve found calling them out and threatening to throw them under the bus ALWAYS works. I’m dumbfounded by this honesty.
Finals start next week for me, but last week I wrapped up a ten-page essay and a group presentation project, so stuff is starting to come together.
All that’s really left at this point is to study for four (non-cumulative, which is great) finals, write two small reflection papers for another class, and finish the work for a self-paced online class on formal logic. Then, I’m going to spend winter break grinding for the LSAT and take it in Janurary once I come back.
Hope stuff has been going well for you as well :] especially now that you have some job offers.
You’re a smart dude so I know you’ll end the semesters with As.
That sounds like a big scary test, but you’ll crush it like your weekly PRs.
Everything has been going well indeed. Now that I don’t have to worry about career stuff, I’m trying to figure out what other things I want to focus my attention towards, but that’s the difficult part.
Do you want to get married?
Do you want to start a family one day?
Do you want to start a business?
Do you want to own properties?
Do you want to pick up new hobbies?
Do you want to learn a new skill?
Do you want to get a Masters Degree?
Do you want a larger social circle?
All of these require time, and to be honest I’m not letting any of these fck up my training.
I find being an adult weird, but exciting at the same time since you practically craft your own “destiny”.
