Dude, my whole family absolutely and completely fell in love with Nebraska. I’m from San Diego, my wife is from Maui, it’s so different, but it’s incredible. The part we’re in is VERY metropolitan: we get broadway shows, concerts, incredible exotic food, but we live in the suburbs and can tuck ourselves away from it all, eat sweetcorn and go to pumpkin patches and forget it all. We’re 40 minutes away from the home of Piedmontese, which I just got a delivery from them yesterday and now my freezer is FULL of grassfed beef, which we have some of the best beef on the planet. People are TOO friendly.

About the only thing I don’t care for is the weather. Winter is honestly my favorite season here, because it’s the most stable. Spring is absolutely psychotic: snow one day, 80 degrees the next, and the only thing that can bring those swings of weather is 80mph winds. There’s no fall: it goes straight from summer to winter, and fall is my favorite season, so that sucks. And it’s humid as hell: all my Ironmind stuff rusted. But this place wrecked our retirement plans. We were originally going to settle down in Central Coast CA, but now we’re here for the long haul.

Where were you thinking on the coast? My partner has talked to a few places in Monterey and Santa Cruz, seems like beautiful life but insanely expensive.

We were nearby Lompoc/Santa Maria and absolutely loved it. Pismo was fantastic too, but that’s a reach goal.

Nice, I went to a wedding out near Santa Ynez a few years back, beautiful area. Somewhat regularly trying to justify California to myself financially these days

This session was done last night.

I’ve been applying to jobs for fall 2023 semester and beyond, my schedule is perfect. This is because I want more money, and want to learn something different.

I can come back to my current job or stick around with one of the top 5 ENR general contractor I’ll be with in the summer. Basically, I can’t lose lol.

@T3hPwnisher Thanks for sharing Pwn. Have you ever seen Piedmontese cattle in person (not dead or in your belly :rofl:) since you’re 40 minutes away from the home of Piedmontese.

Please tell me more about San Diego and California. The weather, the food, everything. I bet that’s where you developed your taste buds for Mexican food (I know nothing about san diego).

I’ve lived on the east coast my entire life, and I think New Jersey is a pretty lame state due to the cold, cloudy, and ugly weather during the winter and fall. My sled is coming Friday, but it’s shipped to my parents house and I’m living in another state, so I’ll pick it up after the semester ends in a couple weeks.

No one needs to develop taste buds for Mexican food: it’s amazing! If you have taste buds, you have taste buds for Mexican food, haha.

I’ve seen the Piedmontese distribution center, but haven’t visited the ranches yet. Next time we’re in Lincoln I’m sure we’ll make it part of the agenda. We’re big fans of it, and love eating local.

These days, San Diego can get a bit hot in the summer, but growing up I was spoiled. We had no seasons: it was always just “nice”. 72 with a light breeze. Winters, days would be a little shorter, and summers a little longer, but year round pleasant weather. The beach is right there (cold water pacific beaches, not like the east coast), the people were laid back (heavy surfer culture influence), amazing cuisine, lots of military support with Navy and Marine bases, stupidly metropolitan, 90 minutes from Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm and 20 minutes from Tijuana: WAY too much fun and debauchery available, haha.

Growing up there was awesome. Living there now would be a little more tedious with it being hotter, a bit more crowded, and Mexico being significantly less safe than before. But I still love to visit there.

Plus, it’s the home of “Jack-In-The-Box”, which is just awesome.

Oops accidentally put low bar, I switched to high bar because doing them low bar was impossible, the darn thing just slides off my back.

Oh well it was worth trying.

Yea Low Bar took a long time to get used to.

Is it sliding off right away on the unrack or while your standing there prepping for the first rep? I still mess up my setup at times if I’m starting too upright and not locking myself in and find it does slide off

Hey thanks for this. I checked it out and all the points I’ve already implemented before in the past, I do use a talon grip already and go pretty wide

The issue for me is purely mobility, I have an incredibly difficult time getting into that position which thankfully is something I can improve on over time with stretches
