Tomorrow morning I will be doing that conditioning thingy @T3hPwnisher recommended I do with the log vipers. Since I do not have access to a log I will just be using a barbell.
I’m typing this out to hold myself accountable because if I didn’t type this out I most likely would have skipped it lmao.
We do have kettlebells here as well but I don’t want to flip flop so yeah.
I’ve seen this recommended, but I feel like the lapping the log component gets missed here. Often, on high rep vipers, it’s my quads that get fried from that bizarrely loaded front squat.
That’s a really common thing. Like, I’ve seen actual knock down-drag outs over drawings and how they are interpreted, and have a nifty scar on my shin/calf where, but virtue if misinterpretation or reinterpretation a guy changed his own mind and ended up putting a drill into my leg.
It’s typically the general or main contractors site engineers job to make the final decision on these types of issues.
Side skill or otj knowledge that will really set you apart- conflict resolution.
205 lbs x 9 (chickened out of last rep cause I was afraid of doing the roll of shame again)
205 lbs x 7
Got 205 lbs x 7 for a bonus set (had 1 or 2 reps left in the tank). I want to make sure I’m training hard no matter what. So I made up the rep I didn’t get even though it was only one lol.
Close Grip Bench
180 lbs x 10
180 lbs x 10
180 lbs x 10
Incline Bench
150 lbs x 10
150 lbs x something (weight too heavy forgot number of reps)
150 lbs x something ( weight too heavy forgot number of reps)
Welp looks like my parents will be picking me up sometime this week. It really sucks not having a car.
I will just have to survive off of eggs, turkey burgers, protein shakes, and canned food.
I’m gonna miss doing my bulk shopping runs for now. In any case that car is truly dead obviously I will get a new one (hinted by dad). But, without a doubt most of that money is coming out of my student loan refund money.
I definitely need some other source of income besides getting internships. It’s paying for food that worries me.
I walked to the school gym to be told it was closed. Walked back fo my apartment and got an uber. I am at my regular gym (Gold’s Gym) about to crush deadlifts now.
As much as I want to say I have deadlifted 330 lbs x 30 reps (deadstop) exactly I cannot. Here’s how my deadlift session went: Banged out 20 reps, ten second mini break, did 2-3 reps, ten second mini break then repeat doing 2-3 reps.
I don’t know how many time I’ve done that after doing 20. I want to say maybe 4 - 6 times. Unfortunately the stupid barbell rolled off the platform so I had to move that back before my last rep. My objective was lifting the fucking barbell off the ground, not counting (after the initial 20 reps because it was brutal afterwords). I thought to myself keep going until you feel like you got more than 30. I feel like I either got exactly 30 or really really fucking close.
The irony to this is that it doesn’t even matter. Getting more than 20 reps with 330 lbs (which I can confidently say I have cause it’s obvious) would be an all time pr regardless. I based the rest of my sets assuming I got 30 reps.
I am going to assume my parents will be picking me up on the weekend (since I do not have a car atm). I have two options here. Use uber to finish this DW week or use uber for one last time tomorrow, then wait until the weekend to finish up this week with the boilerbar at home.
Good to see you getting after it dude. You’re doing an outstanding job of “getting to yes” these days. It’s a 180 degree change from the start of the log, and I’m a big fan of it.
How far is the gym from where you are? Can you walk/run/bike? There’s some “easy” conditioning and it’s free.
I didn’t have my own car in high school and I’d run 2ish miles to the local YMCA to get a lift in, then run home to shower before school. It wasn’t fun but it definitely helped keep me in shape. Running before and after squats gets the legs in incredible condition, haha.
