Tired?

While I don’t have anything specific to add, I’m the exact same way.
If I wanted to, I could sleep probably all day.
And I have played with training volume/frequency in case it was over training. I’ve actually noticed it get worse when I stop working out for a week or two.
Gunna second that excitement thing. It’s a hell of a lot easier to not sleep through molecular biology and inorganic chemistry on Friday as I approach the weekend than on Monday!

You could be overtraining. Take a week or so off and do other things that you’ve wanted to do but didn’t have the time.

All,

If it’s a sleeping disorder, then go for a sleep study. They suck, but it’s worth it.

I was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), got that CPAP device…hated it…had surgery about a month ago, and now feel about 80% better. Sleep Apnea is caused by blockage to the airway…excessive tissue mass in your airway…that causes your brain to ‘wake up’ to get some oxygen into the lungs. You usually won’t be aware of this happening, but it interferes with REM sleep cycles, and basically causes you to:

Be tired during the day
Become irritable
Be moody
and suffer from a bunch of other bad shit…

Oh yeah…you’ll also snore like a champ, be you man or woman, and maybe even kick in your sleep.

Basically, if it’s severe enough, you’ll be at risk of cardio-vascular disease, as well as enjoying a shitty life. Joy!

Get the sleep studies if you need them, and bring something to help you fall asleep…37 probes stuck to your head, face, chest, stomach, thighs and calves might make it a tad bit difficult to fall asleep naturally.

I had the same problem but what I did was the following, instead of sleeping 8-9 hours cut back on your nightly sleep a little like 7 hours and take a 1 hour nap during the day for about 2 weeks, but many people dont have times for naps, hopefully you do, and stay on top of your diet, it helped me tons

My guess is either a lazy thyroid ( go check your thyrosine levels) or overtraining, u should slack off training for 1 week just to see what happens.
get well soon

I agree with fatpanda and rickbravo. Go to a doctor for your energy levels, it might be depression of some sort. Wellbutrin comes to mind for your symptoms since its an energizing antidepressant. You can get a script for that easily. Some people are just “like that” in the way they are tired all the time. believe me, I’m one of them, I tried everything before finally discovering wellbuterin + phentermine everyday, great energy and I feel like me again, or at least, the me I want to be.

Oh yeah, check thyroid before medicating as many have said before. Peace.

You know, it would be really nice if T-mag covered this, maybe in a two part article on specifically on sleep - maybe even start it in issue 282.

yeah, if i take a week off doesn’t matter. not over training either because my gains are comming along nicely…cover this sheezy t-mag! please?

(Smacks head.)

Are you being serious? Cripes, click on “Previous Issues”. Read “The Big Sleep Part 1” in issue 282!

“The Big Sleep Part 2” in issue 283 should give you some ideas to get you sleeping effectively (unless you have a “medical grade” sleep disorder).

But anyway, just because you’re laying in bed for 7-9 hours doesn’t mean you’re scoring 7-9 hours of sound, restful slumber. If you’re not consistent with bedtime and the amount of sleep you can get, you can feel tired all the time.

There are lots variables which can accidentally upset/reset your circadian rhythem, this was all covered in Part 2 I believe.
