I would pay a trillion dollars to watch Maschy go bonkers in a roman chair. Imagine how many youtube hits that would get?!
Git would give you the trillion dollars and then drive you to make the payment.
Take my word for it, nobody wants to see my O face - Octopus on crack just about sums it up.
Thinking about how you know how it looks has kept me occupied for a while…

I choose to not save my history on my browser for just these types of moments.

That closed-tunnel MRI thing is some freaky-assed shit. Sure, they fed me into it feet first, but I’m small enough so that I KNOW my whole self was inside the tube. However, since I refused to open my eyes from the time right before they loaded me in until I was well out, I really don’t care to know the truth.

Not for the first time in my life am I grateful that I studied Buddhist meditation in my twenties. That staved off a bit of a panic attack at the very beginning (and I never panic). Damnation, did I not enjoy that. And unless I can talk my way into an appointment with the doc next week, I have to wait until the week after next for results. Patience is not a virtue of mine!

In any event, there were some highlights from the Friday nite training which preceded my tube ride.

Military Press (5/3/1 week)
45# 1 x 5
51# 1 x 3
57# 1 x 5 <–rep PR +1 over last attempt

BBB with light oly bar
10/8/7 then break for deadlifts 10/6

Not a hugely better showing on the BBB over last week’s attempt with the full-size oly bar, but considering that my money sets have improved each of the two weeks I’ve been trying the BBB, this accessory work seems promising. It stays.

Sumo Deads
from risers with 10# plates
85# 1 x 5
105# 1 x 5
from floor
135# 3 x 5

I was just working on speed and form with light weights. My knee doesn’t hurt me when I deadlift and it feels no worse today than it did yesterday (not a heck of alot better either, but oh well).

Then I ran out of time and went to eat delicious veal scallopine before heading to the MRI.

Hope the MRI went well. My philosophy: “More information is always better than less.” Arachne is right about internet information though. Don’t bother.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. Your support really helps alot. I so hate being anything less than 100% well.

Yet even as I whine, I fully realize how lucky I am to be obsessing over a sore knee when my fellow MRI victims were there last night for much more serious situations.

Yeah closed MRI’s suck, imagine if you weren’t as tiny as you are.

No joke. The dude with whom I was sitting in the waiting room in all our swaddled-in-scrubs glory was like 6 ft tall and obese. Good luck with that.

Not exactly fun if you’re claustrophobic. I gather they are pretty noisy, too.

Nice work on the PR, nice work w/the BBB, nice work gettin’ through the MRI. Enjoy the rest of the weekend on me.

Glad to hear the MRI is over and done with - now just the waiting game. Fingers crossed!

Good job on the MO PR! Small victories and steady gains, there’s really nothing more you can ask for!

Btw “tube ride” giggle sounds so dirty. HAH! Have a great weekend my dear

Hey,
I have my fingers crossed. My crystal ball says the issue is minor and fixable. The ball also gave me some guaranteed lottery winners that I will PM you.

Serially, good luck.

Okay, NOW I’m glad everything went okay. For some reason I thought the MRI was in the past. Must not speed-read logs. Awesome on the PRs and everything else. Hope you had some wine. We all feel bad when Kimba isn’t 100%.

I’ve got my MIL in the hospital again, so this is drive-by post. Thanks to all youse guys for your support.

Yesterday’s training was a focus on upper body in order to baby the knee. And I woke up Sat. AM with some pain in both my heels (!) and I have no idea how that came about. Anyway.

Bench Press (5/3/1 week)
Bar 1 x 5
71# 1 x 5
80.5# 1 x 3
90# 1 x 1 <–failed on 2

BBB 50# 5 x 10

I can go up in weight on the BBB to 55# next time. My one rep max is 92 lbs., so I’m OK with a single at 90.

Lumberjack Squat
45# plate 1 x 5

This was already set up in the corner so I thought I’d give it a try. I found it hard on my wrists because I was awkward in handling the bar, and thought maybe it wasn’t a good day to try something new, given all my existing aches and pains.

Pull-throughs
52.5 1 x 10
57.5# 1 x 10
52.5# 1 x 12

This works my glutes and is fine on the knees, but still conservative weight and went for reps instead.

Back raises
BW 1 x 10

Eh. Decided to hit this with HLRs instead to completely avoid knee strain.

1 armed cable rows on Swiss ball
32.5 3 x 12

supersetted with

Hanging leg raises (bent knees)
3 x 10
tried straight leg but SO WEAK. Will work up to this.

Good girl/bad girl (pushing out only)
70# 3 x 10
Surprisingly, no knee issues so I’ll put this one back in for awhile.

HS Flye Machine
50 1 x 12
55 1 x 10
60 1 x 10

Hey, it was a sitting-down exercise and I was all over that.

Chinups
5/4/2

I’ll be in the medical center anyways today, so I’m thinking of going up to Sports Medicine and begging for an earlier appt. with my knee doc in person. Hopefully they won’t be able to resist my charms.

They won’t.

Sorry to hear about your MIL and your aches and pains. I hope everything improves for you. Here’s good news: You’re still benching more than I am.
Worked for me. I’m tail waggin’ in this thread all the time.

I like the progression w/the BBB on the bench. Single 90 is good work.

Use what ever you have to so that you get to see that doc.

Who can?

Good luck. Nice benching. Hope all is well.
