I weigh 185 pounds, and I deadlifted 400 pounds tonight. Not amazing, but it is my new PR. I just wanted to tell someone.
Beating oneself is most important, right? Congrats.
Good point Alffi. Thanks.
Imagine cleaning that in a few years.
You should have made it 405, just so it would have looked cool with 4 plates. Gratz on the pr thats some big weight especially for your size.
Nice one bro, deadlift is my favourite lift to PR on. Makes me fucking crazy when I get a personal best on deads, nothing as satisfying.
If he was in Europe it woulda been 4 plates… 4 plates = 180kg = 397lb
Yeah I actually tried 405 about 10 minutes later, but I couldn’t get the bar past my knees. Thanks for all the support.

Aha. That’s why you guys always look so strong. Cheaters.
CONGRATS GK!
I walk around euphoric all day after deadlift and squat PRs!
500 Next!
I love how pr’s changes my perception of what is heavy.
Love warming up with 200kg in the deadlift and having to mentally push myself to take it seriously.
Keep ip the good work
Ha! 450 at 178 pounds!
Sorry, didn’t mean to be bragadocious, just had to tell someone too.
Congratulations man!

Nice work. It always feels good to brag about a PR.
When I first deadlifted 405lbs, I had trouble sleeping that night.
Congrats on the lift.
btw, does anyone know if you can DL more in a trap bar DL than a conventional DL? I’ve never done trap bar deadlift and wanted to give it a try.

It depends, at my gym the big plates are 25 kg (55 lbs), so my 180 kg deadlift is 40 kg (88 lbs) lighter than 4 plates
Nice one, sir - I’m about there, but I outweigh you just a little, so you win

Just about everyone can do more on a trap bar then on a normal bar because:
A) The load is in line with your center of gravity making it easier to pull from a lever perspective.
B) It’s almost like a partial squat
C) You don’t need to use your back as much, see A
