Thoughts on cardio and low-carb diets

What is the consensus of the group on cardio on low-carb diets? It’s common practice to do it first thing in the a.m. but if you’re following a low-carb diet does it really make a difference whether you do it in the morning on an empty stomacah compared to later in the day assuming you wait 2-2 1/2 hours after a meal? I would think not as insulin/glycogen levels would pretty much be low all day and there’s no carbs to be used for energy. Thoughts?

Teddykgb, I just don’t know. That’s a good question. I do know that my progress had slowed down, which caused me to renew my commitment cardio, specifically to fasted-state cardio. Almost immediately I started seeing my BF% drop again. Before my “renewed commitment,” I did cardio post-workout. What I’m finding interesting, though, is that BW does NOT seem to be dropping. BF% DOES seem to be dropping, and more quickly than I am used to seeing BF drop for me.

But who knows whether “fasted state” had anything to do with it. I might have seen the same results with post-workout cardio. However, I do like the idea of separating the two and giving my metabolism a boost TWICE a day, instead of once.

I’ll be interested to see what other responses you get.
