I know at some point I will need to add the zerchers and deficit deadlifts if I ever want a decent deadlift. I avoid it though, cuz unlike you, I am a giant pussy.

*wider stance, tried to get as low as I could on each rep. Think I managed to get the bar a little lower on the traps. Felt it more in my butt and inner thighs. See how I feel in a couple of days.

Feeling it in the glute and inner thigh is good.Nice deep wide stance squatting.Should make sitten on the throne a chore!:slight_smile:

Got 2 more regular work outs to go. Tomorrow and early Tuesday morning. They operate on my thumb at 2 o’clock on Tuesday so I’ll have to see what I can do with it all bandaged up. Shouldn’t affect squatting at all. May even try some of the single arm stuff;cleans,deads, etc., if need be.

Asked the wife if she was going to nurse me back to health, again. Her reply, “it’s only your thumb”. “But I may be in intense pain and need constant attention!” “So you won’t be going to the gym?”
She doesn’t play fair.

I tried to run it through a table saw…
needless to say both work and the gym were fun with a 6"turban on my thumb.

My first venture into the world of civilian surgery was a bit of a surprize. I’d envisioned going in, putting my hand on the table, getting a local, having the procedure done and going home. No, had to go through the whole nine yards. Put on the gown, IV, wheeled to the operating room, some real good stuff to relax me, operation, recovery room. Happy pill after the operation.

Doc says everything went fine. Wife brought me home, and I was out til real early this morning. Woke up and did the Dagwood raid on the frig. I was hungry. No pain to speak of in the thumb but they gave me a RX just in case. Vital statistics:
BW: 233 (no food or water for 8 hours prior)
BP: 118/71
PULSE: 62
EKG: Heart’s working fine

Question of the day. With all the hot little nurses running around in skin tight scrubs why did I get 2 middle age old frumpy ones. My ego moment. “Well, we work out don’t we?” Do they teach medical people to talk in the plural? Figure on trying to do squats tomorrow morning. Think I’ll be able to bench, too. Not sure on pulling movements using both hands.

You need to take a black marker and draw a little happy face on that sucker… or make it into a shark’s head, that’d be cool!

Careful liftin’ with that… once it starts throbbing (flush with blood) your probably gonna feel it.
