Do you ever do box squats in the westside manner? even using 50% I feel like it has helped me.
Since your shoulder is part of the problem, what I used to do is place the bar about midway down my should blades and instead of grabbing the ends of the bar, I would lay my hand over the bar, so my wrist was on top. This put much less rc stress. The down side is that you lose some of the “tight” feeling.
So far all I’ve done for my squats is squat, mj. May add some other stuff as I get up in weight. Tried the wrist hold before and wasn’t real happy with it. I’ve gotten to the point where I can concentrate on leg strength and not as much on the shoulder discomfort.

Tried reading a lot of the threads tonight. Got through a couple and then started hitting the posting screens again. Will try and catch up in the morning.
Just tried to open almost all the threads. The posting screen is all I got on all of them. When I go back in a thread I keep getting the posting screen until mid december. So, from posting limbo, hope everyone’s doing great. Guess the secret of eternal youth I’ve discovered will have to remain a secret.
Coming here pre-workout to peruse the threads of my fellow mature lifters I’m confronted by the white screen. What does this mean? Has all my lifting come to naught? Have I ever lifted or was it just a dream? Or does this signify a new beginning? A blank slate to cronicle my odyssey for the ultimate liftgasm.
Is the omnipresent white screen inducing sensory depravation? Is Rod Sterling really standing next to me here in the twilight zone as I type this? I can find posts from a month back but nothing recent. Am I Billy Pilgrim from Slaughterhouse Five being displaced in time and space?
But wait, my most recent posts have appeared. The void has substance. I do exist in the here and now.

Mebbe there’s some sort of rolling backup to the database that backs the site. Some database files might be getting frozen or taken offline and it just so happens that they are broken down by days or months and only the last 30 days or so are backed up. When that’s gong on you get the “White Screen of Contemplation,” maybe.
That’s my best guess as a former database administrator.

yeah. I think in days of old, they took the bar off the floor, so that might make it look sort of like a gm. most people use it as a squat thing. like with front squats, i’m too much of a wussy to do them.

Some random stuff
Surfed around last night looking for some kind of lifting meet I can fit in. There are more damn federations than you can shake a stick at. Big difference in levels of competition, too. I’m so confused.
Considering doing 2 of the big lifts on the same day. Either bench/squat or bench/dead. No squat/dead. Getting to that time of year where I need to practice throwing alot. Since I’ve got at least 1 highland game lined up need to get in some practice on the more diverse throws,ie, sheaf toss, caber.
Never done GMs. But holding the bar ala zercher and doing them that way seems to directly mimic highland throwing so going to give it a try.
And since I’m rambling on, joke de jour

Bench night and the first night I’ve had in a while that really sucked. Woke up this morning and my neck was stiff as a board. Rotated my head all day (scared half the people on my route) and the damn thing is making popping noises.

Eco, that there was some weird afflication. Either I slept real wrong the other night or my wife truly does have magic fingers. Woke up this morning feeling fine. Kept rolling my head around trying to get it to hurt but all gone.
Off the next 2 days and plan on being in the gym real early both of them. Went swimming tonight. Can’t wait for warm weather so I can get back to the river.
