Don’t do it! Declines are the root of all evil. They are communist. They rip apart the moral fabric of our country. After my workout partners and I did declines in our youth, we found ourselves practicing bizarre sex acts with Rubenesque women. Bad, very bad.
Doc
(p.s.-but they did add a few pounds to our bench PR’s.)
I learn new stuff here every day. (note to self – avoid soccer and declines)
I have this picture in my mind, hel eyes the steps and says what the hell, makes the leap, the mailbag flies open, letters scatter everywhere, hel lands in perfect balance on the 6th step with the letters drifting down around him.

decline benching while performing bizarre sex acts with Rubenesque women…This sounds like some new type of giant superset desinged to work both your chest/triceps/back and your glutes/hip flexors.
Combine these with Ass pullups and you would have a great full body workout.
How to go from decline to depraved in on easy step. Now bizarre sex acts with petite women…

I have done my share of cool wet days here at the mill. It can be not much fun while in the midst of it, but I can honestly say the fact I completed the task in unseasonabley weather for most is a heckuva good feeling.

Thanks JW. My shoes are out in the sunroom drying now. It’s definitely a hot bath night.
Yup, pretty proud of those, skid. Kept reducing the assistance weight and finally said screw it.
Those 4 sets were the hardest thing I’ve done in a long time. Good thing I’d already taken a crap.
Hel, you got up to six bodyweight pullups while I was having my latest nervous breakdown? Damn, I missed all the fun. Am I gonna have to do seven or eight now? Doc
At a minimum, doc. Found myself really getting into working the back and lats. Other than deads and bent rows never really worked on the spread thing. Those were done with the hands facing in and a narrow grip. Still working on the spread out ones.

You will have them going soon. The ocean is angry again, seems when I see it this way these days I have to smile in your honor. Enjoy your weekend big guy!
Got up Sat morning, went and did chest and tris. Went to work. It was one of those beautiful fall days. Rain from the day before was gone and we had clear skies and a high of 68. Light work load and just a great day to be outside walking and taking it all in. Came home and the wife had bar-b-qued on the deck.
Lit the outside firepit, drank a little wine, dogs laying all around us, watched the sun go down and the stars come out. I sat there and reflected on the long and winding journey we take through life. Realized how blessed and content I am. Got up real early this morning and went to the gym. Gym completely empty. Did shoulders and bis. Great workout. Not a lot here about lifting but sometimes just feel like sharing. Hope you all have a good weekend, too.
i find a bit of reflection is always good. the hardest thing is finding time to do it. i read an article about exploration of the Belgian Congo that summed it up beautifully.
"my party had been pushing ahead at a fast pace for a number of days, and one morning when we were ready to set out, our native bearers, who carried the food and equipment, were found sitting about without any preparations made for starting the day.
Upon being questioned, they said, quite simply, that they had been travelling so fast in these last days that they had gotten ahead of their souls and were going to stay quietly in camp for the day in order for their souls to catch up with them.
Maybe it’s the patience we aquire over the years. That allows us to reflect with greater ease, the wonders that surround us. It is not difficult to appreciate how amazing our life’s are. Health, strength, family, friends and to each a geographic location that is as unique as we are individuals.
I find it all to easy now-a-days to soak in the fortunes of nature that surround me. I find myself sitting still on the edge of a fallen tree. Enjoying the reflection of the sun as it dances on the morning dew.
Never happier or more content than when in one of those moments. We have though great effort maintained our physical prowess. Now we enjoy the treasures of both youth and maturity. Yes Hel320, life is very good.
hel et al
The “young, dumb, and full-o’-cum” days seem to be behind most of us now. Reflection/reminiscing is nice…kinda letting us look back to the timeline of our lives, looking at things already done and un-changed in history is a sometimes better than trying to affect the present/future. No crystal ball here…the future is uncertain; the past is a sure thing!!
Heck, you have quite a bit to reflect on & to be proud of as well! You worked hard & paid your dues, a little reflection time is just what DrPC would order.
Funny, just being able to share thoughts, ideas, etc over the Internet for all those who care to see is a kind of blessing…technology allowed us to cross paths and open up ourselves to new experiences and meeting new people. To some, just waking up each day is a blessing…I never take for granted all that I have been blessed with…for whatever it’s worth, I’ve had a “Wonderful Life” & I don’t need a wing-less angel to point it out to me! Hope all is well with you & yours,
Art
