This Thing We Do

Hel, don’t break a hip or something messing around with the young guys. Any other children? My beard color is catching yours.

Congratulations and best of luck to your son.

Great pic Hel. It must have been a fun weekend for the whole family. Let us know how the ‘swim’ went.

Thanks to all. Right now Jr is at one of the relatives house. He finally managed to escape his Grandma, mother, and aunts. Think he needs a shot of test by now. Going to meet up with him at my brothers resturant later. My master plan is unfolding. He will be stuffed and tired when I spring the trap. Around midnight, “come on time for a swim”.

Since this is a lifting site. He doesn’t lift much but is religious about his PJ workout. Pushups, pullups, situps, rope climbing, swimming and 2 mile run. No where here to rope climb but first thing every morning he does the rest. And of course his Arnis (filipino artial art) which he has studied since he was 4.

Eco, I have one other son. Just started his internship in Birmingham. Specializing in Orthopedics. (getting him ready for my old age.) We’re trying to get him up here this weekend to see his brother at least for a day or 2.

You’ve got some height on him, should give you better reach and stroke on the swimming.

I assume you race each other freestyle? You keep him stuffed like that and he might not float

Glad your sons are doing so well. I have 2 boys as well. Second and third grade. Remember when yours were that young? They still believe in Santa and the tooth fairy and think I’m the man.

Can we geta group rate on the ortho? We could send the school of medicine into a frenzy. I’ve dated a gal a year and she notices Sunday after being without electricity for hours my right calve is smaller than the left. I blew out the achilles 25 years ago, go figure. BTW, after the ass pullups I will NOT be inventing the ass pullover, I will stick with the assisted pullover. Where you crazy bastards would go is scary!!!

Your son looks alot like you.Have a great time. Can’t wait to hear about the swim.

barry has stumbled on a whole group of ass exercises. ass pullup, ass pullthrough, ass and jerks, ass snatch, and the ass press.

oboy - here we go…

Gentlemen, based on a simple, if rarely used formula, I smoked the young pup in our swimming competion. Bias onlookers may have thought he was far ahead at the finish but they failed to apply said formula. As he is reading over my shoulder as I type I will say he showed a smiggin of endurance and speed.

Comments such as “pretty good, for your age”, I attribute my failure to inflict sever beatings on him as a child. If he doesn’t stop gloating I may have to correct that oversight in a minute.

Thanks for the report. I would have like to been an onlooker in that epic race.

I have written a note to myself: "Spare the rod…Damn, I have a daughter…I would not look good competeing against her in a tutu…

We all know you let him win. Every good dad would.

Haven’t been doing much lately but running around visiting family and eating. Did get in a good swim last night. Going to try to make it to the college for some benching tonight. Right now trying to catch up on everyone’s threads.

Damn hel…you are tall. Good looking boy you have there sir. Chip off the ole block huh?

I’m only 6’2" dz. The wife is 4’11" so the sons came out bout in the middle.
Number 2 son showed up today so both sons deserted us old folks for some nightlife with cousins. Guess staying home and watching movies with mom and dad just ain’t that exciting. Maybe I’ll blast reveille tomorrow at about 0400 and see how they feel.

Did make it to the college last night. Got in some bench and tri work. Should be able to get back to the gym real early tomorrow. Big family get together tomorrow. We don’t need much excuse.

My cousin and I went out drinking on a week night when I was about 19 (yes I’m of the drink at 18 generation…oh Hell we all are!!) My Dad rousted me out of the bed at 5:30 am to go to the mill the next day. It was a hot July day. I remember it well because he had me bush hook a ditch bank that day. I damn near died. I learned my lesson. Damn near 30 years later and I have never been drinking on a “work night”.

I bet its good to have your sons home. Y’all have fun tomorrow.

Early this morning;
Squats
135x10
185x8
225x8
275x6x4
Leg extesions
140x10x4
Leg curls
60x10x4
calve raises (seated machine)
220x Max x 4

Getting under the bar on my first set of 225 and eureka!, found the old sweet spot on the shoulders/lower traps. Still having a hard time getting my hands on the bar but it felt a lot more secure. Going to have to start squating more than once a week if I plan on getting my numbers up.

My current dilemma. I’ve been hitting all the bodyparts, dropped some fat, and am starting to look better. Really want to hit some PW comps though and that means a different type workout. Gonna have to make up my mind.

Great to hear that, Hel. Your perseverance is paying off. Numbers looking good, too.

Maybe you can borrow Colin’s speedo…

Glad to hear the squats are coming along.
