This Thing We Do

I’ve been thinking about learning the rotational style myself, but not until honing up my old glide style first. Without actually trying it, it seems like the rotational style would not feel right and it would be a lot easier to foul - and this is from an ex hammer thrower. Here’s a thought: why not try both at the competition, using the style for your first throw that is most guaranteed to give you a decent throw without fouling. BB

They told me all that stuff I did back in the 70’s would catch up with me. I see strange colors in all the forums. Looks like the OPs comments have a yellow background now. So far we seem to have escaped the logs being moved to a separate forum, too. Guess we play well enough together to be left alone. Do you think the mods draw straws to see who has to watch over us?

“You lost, you have to watch the old folk today. Ah, come on, you’ve been watching Sex and the Male Animal for the last week straight!” If we make a sacrafice do you think they’ll talk to us?
Anyway, got in my last throwing day today. That’s it til the meet. Guess I’ll just run rampant through the forums posting meaningful and insightful comments til then.

hel, I took your advice and did 8 sets x 3 reps with box squats today. thanks

Hey they picked on me and moved my thread:
http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=2020385&pageNo=5#2126671

What I like about us seasoned lifters is we can gut it out old school unlike some of the guys today. Muscle fitness has taken on a newer gentler side these days where I’m at. So when I go in and lift “old school”. People think im crazy. I have read your thread bro and am impressed with our guts and determination. That never say die eye of the tiger attitude. Keep on trucking.

Soldog, you’ll be remembered as the first martyr in our cause to maintain training logs. We will leave no weight unturned in our search for your missing thread!

Thanks Hulkazoid. They keep coming up with new stuff but it’s really pretty simple. Lift, add weight, lift again.

I’m afraid to put a number in here anywhere or I could be wisked off to the “Training Log” archepeligo. If they take me, I’ll tell them nothing! Send crawdads and JD.

New format: Saw a nice BENCH today. They wanted 225 for it. Tried to talk the man down FOUR different times but gave up cause the store closed at EIGHT oclock.

Ok, I’m going through withdrawal. It’s friday night and no lifting tonight. I think I’m shrinking as I sit here typing.

Hey Everybody! We have a comedian in the group! LOL

Hel - I’m not lost just exiled…

In case you haven’t noticed our group just got noticably smaller. Skidmark, Pencil neck, HT, and Bigg James have all been moved to the Training Log Section, too! Those few guys in the T-Cell must buy a hell of a lot of stuff.

Hey - who did you payoff to be allowed to stay?

Hang on, I’m gargling. Can’t get this taste out of my mouth. Damn, had to do them all.

I haven’t posted a workout since the great purge started. Resting for my meet so I’ve just been “running rampant through the forums posting meaningful and insightful comments”. Also your titles have log or training in them. Dz and Colin will probably be next.

Listerine’s the best for that - can’t help you with the scuff marks on the knees though…

I second that!

Well, as these things go the Alabama Senior games went pretty well. Really big turn out. Attached a couple of vids in my profile section. You may see something missing in the Discus vid. The cage. Seems the college decide to take it down for maintenance before the meet. Was really scary in the hammer throw. Anyway, long day but I had a great time. Can’t way for my next meet. They all get harder from here on.

Shot Put = 1st Place
Discus = 1st Place
Hammer = 1st Place! Shocked my self on this one. Don’t hardly practice it but I managed to get one good one off.

Well done Bro! Excellent throwing!

Looking good in the vids!

Woohoo - we have a winner! Nice thowing Hel.

WOW!! Way to go hel! Nice results. Going to catch the vids in a sec.

Great work – in the absence of the cage, hope you don’t mind my saying I prefer hearing about it to having been there!

hel - first time I’ve seen your pics and videos…loved 'em!!! You seeemed to peak OK for the Meet but say the rest are harder…how so??? tougher competition or goals you’ve set for yourself tougher??? AWESOME job nonetheless…will be watching the thread more frequently even though we are now separated not by choice.
