You see? Its like… so predictable with people like you. You take cheap shots in this thread with the support of your friends, get ONE post hitting back at you, and now you are going to run and assemble a BIGGER mob?
You do know how weak this looks from an outsider’s perspective don’t you?
First of all, lol @ “people like you.” You know nothing about me. I could care less what people wrote about me on here. It’s an online forum.
I’m not trying to assemble a bigger mob, I’m trying to see if the majority of the board feels like X does. I never took and cheap shots. What are you talking about?
Again, I could care less what someone thinks on here (people are entitled to their opinions) especially a poster with no stats, pics or videos and has only been here for a month like you.
Then why go start a poll and say you will leave the site if it does not come out in your favor?
To see if people really think like he says they do. If I stay I stay, if I go I go. Whatever the other posters decide won’t effect me personally.
Why let your continued participation on this site be based on whether most people love or hate X? Why give a flying fuck?
Also, why would you think the opinions of only those who participate in the forum reflect the opinions of ALL the READERS of T Nation. With the amount of hits this site is getting, there are obviously much more lurkers like myself who have followed this site for years but never created a username. Sounds a bit like the current debate but i’m not even going to go there.

hahahahahahahah
omg what about the lurkers!!! …let them register and post their own opinions
I have a deep background in forum admin, so please stop
ima gonna pretend this dd guy for a minute is not x signing in on another account for a sec
i have been on the site as long as he has, and he has been like this forever, nobody but a few can tolerated him, many of the educated and accomplished members get tired of his crap soon, and the last few years enough have gotten sick of him to actually start trolling him BACK and fucking with him as much as he fucks with others.
at this point i think he is funny, i enjoy watching/reading this stuff, as he has brought IMHO the quality of the board so far down that i use this site for pretty much mindless entertainment, and to order a few of the products they offer here i feel are worthwhile.
he should not be taken seriously anymore, NOBODY is as egocentric as he is unless they are :
A-clinically insane
B- just trolling trying to cause trouble
i personally think its B, i think he enjoys the attention, but i could be wrong,

Sad to say, this is completely true for me as well. When I want to talk shop, i.e. nutrition/lifting/etc, I simply go to other boards… years ago this wasn’t the case on T-Nation. The only reason I come here now is for some laughs/entertaining, and partaking in discussions with CT every now and then.
X, I think the reason a lot of people get riled up is because they’re very passionate about fitness/bodybuilding/lifting and become VERY skeptical when someone says they’re 5’10" and wasn’t overly fat at 285#. When you claim those stats, you’re literally stating you are or were as muscular as the freakiest bodybuilders we’ve ever seen in the offseason: Paul Dillet, Dorian Yates, Tom Prince, Dave Palumbo, Mike Matarazzo, Mike Francois, etc. I don’t think people are out to get you, but your claim is far too lofty for most people not to be skeptical.
Also, we’re not limiting people or discouraging people. Some of us say: “No natural has gained 80 pounds of LBM or muscle (whatever terminology someone prefers) and it’s highly unlikely someone will.” That’s not saying, “You won’t gain 80 pounds LBM” or “One can’t gain 80 pounds LBM.” I personally think no one will but that’s besides the point.
A 5’10", 130 pounder would have a BMI of 19, indicating underweight.

Yeah but those guys are all BODYBUILDERS who have to focus on AESTHETICS and not just sheer mass gain.

dorian was one of the first truly huge bodybuilders. also one of the first to start adding heavy amounts of insulin and GH to his stack, he was not really what you would call aesthetic.
if you really think X is or was anywhere near the size of dorian yates (a multiple time mr O) than your fucking retareded.

Trust me, None of those guys held back on putting on mass out of fear of ruining their aesthetics.
I’ve been around plenty of IFBB pros over the years, as well as many of the top Natural Pros. It’s one thing to walk around thinking that you’re bigger than the top natural guys in the world with the argument that you’re not interested in dieting down preventing any actual vaerification, but the upper level guys in the IFBB are so beyond that ‘huge guy’ in your gym, that some people just don’t get it no matter how much they honestly believe.
(and yes, I’ve got a few photos of myself next to Yates, Jay, Victor… and while the pics may appear to show me as a comparable size, I know that it’s just a lucky shot, and I’m actually giving up anywhere from 60-75 lbs -lol)

I think you may have missed the sarcasm in Law8’s post.
@Stu, I don’t believe you! But I’m willing to drive the 40min or so and meet up so we can meet and you can also introduce me to some huge guys and change my views forever!
(alright I believe you…but I just haven’t seen any big guys in Rockland yet

for the record I took 300 and 400 level genetics in undergrad, as well as did epidemiological research, which is much more relevant to the topic than the bench work you did in genetics. Regardless, for the scope of this topic no one needs anything beyond a cursory knowledge of genetics and population data.

Just to make this point clear, in science and medicine, when discussing topics like this, especially as it refers to large populations, you come up with a RANGE of observable data. I would be very skeptical of the political or emotional motives of any “scientist” who literally comes out with an exact number that somehow relates to all people unless it is a very extreme number and we are talking about absolutes.
Simply put, this “80lbs limit” is unsupported and contested…so why keep retelling it?
lol, well before they come up with a range, there are rounds of research and educated guessing that leads to a hypothesis. I really do value guys like brick, maiden, stu, etc weighing in on this as they have already, and I’ve already qualified why this guessing of a “natural limit” of sorts is important to all of us as well and is central to the topic at hand. You’ve already noted that this isn’t a worthwhile question to ask, so please you and your trolls bow out.
