Damn, would it really ruin your progress to add some sauce and enjoy your food, I mean, kudos on the discipline, but whats 1 scoop of sauce a day gonna hurt?

The only way to bulk faster is to eat more… or steroids. Seriously… chill out with the food monitor or whatever, grill a couple burgers and be done with it. You’ll live longer and be bigger, sooner.

Wisdom in one paragraph. Really, man, what everybody’s saying here? Spot on. Chill. Eat. Stress increases cortisol and fucks your muscle gains. If you’re worrying about the grams of carbs you’re taking in via your digital scale, you’re stressing too much about food.
Screw the egg whites. Eat whole eggs. Have a burger now and then. Some sauce on your pasta (nice and chunky with vegetables, and maybe a little added cheese for fun and more calories).
You’re doing well, but it sounds like you’re new to the game. The first few months are always the quick gaining ones. You may slow down from here on out. Don’t panic. Just keep at it.
In honor of your “clean” eating I just ordered a large pizza!
Tiger just won again and I’m going to celebrate!
so much for talking about eating clean around here then
I liked Berardi’s thing about bagels and peanut butter, and a jug of protein shake, I’ve been using that for the past few months with good succes…allows me to keep up my usual eating habits with a calorie source I can manipulate easily. I get the plain ones and toast them, sometimes I add honey for some sweetness too.

I find your fixation on supplements (from the previous page) somewhat disturbing. I go through phases where I take a whole bunch of shit, but you know what? If it’s legal, it generally is just that…shit. And it really never speeds anything up. I like to take supplements that will help with energy (caffeine) or recovery (see below).
I’d recommend ZMA, Metabolic Drive (or some other protein), Surge (or anouther PWO shake), creatine (if you want), and a multivitamin.
As for clean eating, if you can gain while doing it, good for you. But your diet seems BORING. I mean shit. I LOVE to eat. I make love to my food. Who wants to make love to egg whites? Not me. Don’t be so anal.
Oh, and burgers are your best friend when bulking.
Good luck.
DD
I haven’t figured out why some people think “clean” means “no potatoes, cheese, milk,” or whatever it is they are afraid of eating. If you’re eating protein, fiber, and plenty of veggies and fruits at each meal, there’s no reason not to add in rice, potatoes, milk, or whatever. “Clean” means eating real food rather than the McNuggets diet.
