Coach, I remember you recently said you didn’t feel a need for DIM. So i was just wondering…why does Coach Poliquin want you to use it? Did he say?
At first glance I didn’t think that I needed it because my main triceps, quads and chest were so low. But Charles told me that the ratio of Triceps to Chest is a bit high (even if we are talking about minute amounts) and my hamstring site is too high.
DIM is not really an anti-estrogen though. It just improves estrogen metabolism… it decreases the level of bad estrogens and increase the level of good estrogens.[/quote]
So would that means its more comparable to a natural SERM then being an aromotase inhibitor?

Christian, how would dim affect a girl on the pill if you know? would it disrupt it?

They say not to use it when using hormonal contraceptives. I do believe it would negatively affect it as it is trying to complete a balancing act so is the pill. Problem is, its different balancing act which would interfere with each others goals.
Sounds like a bad idea.
But I could be wrong, so I guess Coach should have answered.
if you one was to take DIM+CDG like Coach Poliquin recommended for you, wouldn’t that person be smart to not be using test boosters/etc at that time?
Since these are substances that balance the Test/Estrogen ratio is seems like your body would start decreasing its test production while decreasing E if your levels are above normal as the results of using Alpha Male or something. Is this true? Or would be potentially beneficial to stack them?
Fenuplex: 2 caps per meal
Insulinomics: 2 caps per meal
Ultra HCL 3.0: 2 caps per meal (for me)
High doses of fish oil (I use 9-12 caps of Flameout)
I’m looking on Poliquin’s site now but could someone tell me what these supplements perform? Is it just extra blood sugar level support/insulin. Is it kind of like Chromium Picolinate? would this give you results with a high fiber low carb diet since insulin levels are low?

Well, I’d assume it would work just fine since Christian is using a low carb diet to cut fat.
Excellent post Thib. A few weeks ago there was an article the talked about being insulin resistant. It nice to see some of the supplements that will help with it. I have a few questions.
What role does the glycine play?
Other supplement like R-ALA, chromium, cinnamon extract are also good for this, why not take any of those?
You said your only carbs are after your workout, isn’t cutting out carbs going to help increase insulin sensitivity?
Also after that article about hardgainers where it mentioned using the HCL and enzymes I came up with this formula from another website. I take my enzymes seperate they are from NOW foods. I haven’t taken the supplement yet.
It’s mostly for lowering cortisol due to its inhibiting/calming action on the nervous system.

Supplements are a lot like training programs: many of them work, few of them work forever. The best approach is thus to cycle ‘‘role-specific supplements’’… for example, let’s say that you have 6 different supplements to improve insulin resistance; it is smarter to use 3 of them for 4-6 weeks then switch to the 3 others for 4-6 weeks than using all 6 of them at the same time.
Note that I don’t consider protein, amino acids and fish oil as supplements but rather as concentrated nutrients.

Yes, that is the point of not having carbs most of the day and only having them post/during workouts when your insulin sensitivity is at its highest.

Oh ok thanks. The reason I was asking is the same question I quote right below

Thats what I was wondering also. edit question answered above
Hey Christian…also what does Ultra HCL do? It says digestive support function…in the grand scheme of things why do you take it with the insulin protocol?
Is there a book I can purchase that will correlate my individual fat sights with my hormone ratios? I only ask as I already know the skin fold sights, but do not know the correct ratios. I saw the link for the seminar, but I live in California and Canada is to far:)

There isn’t any book about that. It’s Coach Poliquin’s system and he hasn’t written anything about it. You will have to do his seminar if you want to learn more about it.
However Coach P is in the US and travels all over the world, he doesn’t only give seminars in Canada. He has one in Arizona the 28th of August.

HCL is basically digestive acids. It improves digestion and absorption of the nutrients (and supplements) you ingest. It’s not for insulin sensitivity per se, only to improve the efficacy of the digestive system. After all, what is important is not the amount of food you eat, but the amount of food you absorb!
How would one go about finding a skilled professional who understands biosignature modulation to do the caliper testing on them in their area? (I’m in NYC). Is there a website or directory that lists Charles’ certified people throughout the U.S. and Canada?
look up charlespolquin.com
there is a directory of all trainers under the picp banner.
look for a trainer in your area and if you contact them just ask are they using the biosignature modulation.
not all do yet (me)

On a sidenote, Charles will be giving the seminar in Spain (May 17th) and there is a good chance that I’ll be there too.

may i ask Chris are you doing the level3&4 tasks also?
i m hoping to generate enough to get to florida or arizona in september.
question also are you using the hormonal panel with clients?
