Thanks Luke_Leaman! Will switch to Uberzinc.
How is Receptormax different from insulinomics? Could it be used in place of insulinomics?

I’m interested in this too. I’ve been doing the insulin protocol for a few weeks now while dietig with excellent results. But I think I am going to switch to Receptormax. If it does what it claims, it increases insulin sensitivity AND has many other benefits.
I may still continue to use the fenugreek and insulinomics before meals where I do not take the Receptormax as the recommended dose for that is only for 3 meals.
Receptormax is more like Fenuplex or R-ALA than it is like Insulinomics. I’d get into the particulars, but I don’t think it is appropriate for me to get into the discussion here. I don’t know that there is another supplement quite like Insulinomics (at least that I know of).
I’d say that Charles’ supplements are a bit more “targeted” while Receptormax is a bit more “general” if that makes sense.

What does this translate to you for your own supplement protocol? Are you going to use insulinomics with meals where you do not take Receptormax?
I don’t have much of a problem with insulin so I don’t use Insulinomics; if anything, I find myself going hypoglycemic, so I just focus on carnitine supplementation and if I want to boost carbohydrate tolerance I use plain ol’ cinnamon.
I actually went low carb for too long for my body type. I added in carbs postworkout making no other changes and lost 2% bf (that was earlier this summer).
I also don’t think I will be using Receptormax, but I think it would be a great supplement to use pre/post workout.

Good that you know your own body. I’m thinking of adding back carbs post-workout as I round out my own cut. But staying low otherwise.
I’ve been crashing lately. Not during workouts. But feeling weak a few hours afterwards. Fatigue. Listless. Tingling. Numb lips. All that good stuff.

What is your post workout protocol, level of bodyfat, and current diet like?

I’m about 10% now. I’m going to drop to about 8%. I use high levels of BCAAs with a scoop of whey isolate peri-workout. My post-workout shake consists of BCAAs, glutamine, creatine, glycine, phosphatidyl, and about 1/3 scoop of whey. I’m on a ketogenic diet.

Well, first instinct about that is that there just isn’t enough whey protein. My second instinct is that you are getting low blood sugar from the shake, since it causes a huge spike in insulin but provides no blood sugar.
If your bodyfat levels are as low as you say, you are lean enough for fruits in the postworkout window (in my opinion).

That’s probably true on the shake. I do eat quite soon after it, but since I am on the ketogenic diet, there are no carbs to speak of in that meal.
I do like ketogenic diets. I’ve used them with great sucess and do find them excellent for shredding. But maybe it’s time to try something new and see how that goes.
Ksommer,
What is the purpose of Insulinomics and what is its benefit over Fenuplex?
Insulinomics seems like an interesting blend of stuff but I am unsure of what it does for insulin management over Fenuplex.
I would love to try Insulinomics but at $66 a bottle it is a little out of reach for me at the moment.

Insulinomics is what is called a kinase - it essentially activates a cascade of enzymes. For the short of it, from Charles’ site, the kinase basically sends a signal to your cells that all systems are go - think that your body is healthy and food is available (imagine the state after just refeeding or not dieting). So, in a sense, your body would be less tempted to store glucose in fat and more likely to store it in muscle.
In essence, insulinomics is more of a “sensitizing” agent than an “uptake” agent. If you could imagine Fenuplex helping insulin perform its job and normalize the amount of insulin released, while Insulinomics would send the signals to the cells to respond properly to the insulin - let me know if that is confusing, I know it can get a bit murky at times. You can read more about it on Charles’ site.
I am taking both Insulinomics and Fenuplex and seeing my supra-iliac diminish, yet my subscap is not. Anyone have any ideas or explanations?
Time, my friend… time. It’s probably the hardest site to change.

Supra-iliac represents your ‘‘current’’ carbs intake vs. carbs tolerance situation.
Subscap represents your genetic predisposition to handle carbs.
If you are insulin resistant, then the subscap will be the very last to go.
Thank you CT and Ksommer, this thing is so damn stubborn its not funny. I have been at it for awhile now and its very resistant to dropping.
Where are you guys going to get your analysis done? I haven’t found a place in SoCal yet. Is there a list somewhere?

If you go to Charles’ website
http://www.charlespoliquin.com/index.php
in the upper row of tabs you will find the heading
“Trainer and BioSig Directory”
http://www.charlespoliquin.com/store/search_users.php
Type in your search criteria there -and you will find the BioSignature Practitioner closest to you.
A word to the wise…if the Practitioner is not listed on Charles’ site, they are no longer certified. Charles recently began requiring annual re-cert’s for all BioSig Practitioners.
There is just TOO much new information and new research being released to remain current any other way.
peace
i kno this sounds stupid but i was just wondering if anyone could tell me if natural test. boosters would show up on a drug test. thanks
