Andy Warhol was right.
He’s just enjoying his time in the spotlight. Once your 15 minutes is over, you better have something rewarding to do with the rest of your life, or you’ll waste it trying to get back to your glory days.

? You don’t know the worth of this man’s life anymore than anyone else. You don’t know how many charities he gives to, if any. You don’t know what effect his overall life will have on others so it seems to be YOU who has placed a value on this man’s life based on what you see on tv or in the news.
What we DO know is that his goal is to be well known and well paid…and in the grand scheme of things he has accomplished that goal. Most people can’t say the same about either their physical goals, their educational goals or their career goals. For that alone I am not going to “hate” the man simply because that seems to be the in thing to do.

Once again, I seriously doubt you and “the Situation” have been close at all over the years. I doubt he is on your speed dial or that you know anything more about him other thyan what everyone else sees on tv.

Now, I get that he’s making money. But he’s making money the same way many reality “stars” are making money - and that’s by sacrificing their dignity and generally making fools of themselves. 20 years from now, when he’s 40, and his 15 minutes of fame has long past, his every misstep will be preserved forever. I think I’d rather have my dignity. He’s no more accomplished than the Kim Kardashians of the world. I think you’re too damn intelligent to measure someone by earnings, especially earnings that are ultimately as transient as this guy’s will be.[/quote]

honestly i don’t care either way about this guy… but its funny that he’s able to act like a douche and get paid for it…
could i do it? prolli not… am i mad at him for it? not really… it is what it is…
if we end up hating on everyone that doesn’t deserve what they have then we’ll have no time to lift… lol

You have a way of arguing for the sake of argument and taking a point to absurdity in order to make your argument.
By stating that he makes more than some of the “haters” here, you clearly implied that net worth is the measure of a man.
By stating that he gets random ass, you implied that getting random ass is desirable.
Yes, I have judged him and no, he does not need to be on my speed dial. He has allowed me to judge him because he has chosen to partake in “reality” TV - he has chosen, in return for money, to have snippets of his life broadcast to the world. Personally, I don’t watch the show. Personally, I don’t care if he makes and keeps 50 million dollars. It has no effect whatsoever on my life.
As for my crystal ball, it does not have to be accurate to know my personal feelings on the subject. I would not want my every misstep to be preserved for all eternity. I would not subject myself, my life, my friends and family to “reality tv”. You might argue I’d never have the chance, and that might be fair. But trust me, I wouldn’t.
So let’s get this debate back on track, where it belongs, instead of you stretching a point to where it no longer resembles its intended meaning.
Money is not the measure of a man.
Random ass does not measure a man.

No, I implied that he is successful meaning he accomplished what he set out to do. How many here can make the same claim and would be considered successful in their career, education or personal goals?
You are the one who ASSUMED that my only concern is his net worth. That is all I know of him. I make no judgments beyond that.
I can also say the same about the average neurosurgeon without going into details about who he is at home when alone.

Getting laid period is desirable by most men and most are not getting laid as often as he no doubt has the opportunity to.

Then how can you judge someone like that? You think all of his life is shown on tv? Do you think there could possibly be major events in his life that you are NOT aware of?
I can judge the types of people my close friends are. I’ve lived with them, gone to school with them, and known most of them like brothers for over a decade or more. Unless you know the man like that, pretending to have a clue what type of person he is in private is ridiculous.

Please. Every outward expression of you is what others use to judge your worth. The way your woman looks, the type of car you drive, the type of job you have are all markers society uses to judge YOUR worth. If this is news to you, surprise.
Therefore, someone could easily say that the measure of a man is judged on what he outwardly shows, his actions, his possessions and his social status.
It isn’t who you are on the inside…it’s what you do that defines you (Batman Begins)…and let’s face it, unless you follow this guy around in his free time to see what kind of person he really is, he is nothing but an actor that you judged his “character” by to conclude his overall worth.
How ridiculous.

X, you’re saying in another thread for example…that the mass public whom think an off-season bodybuilder is fat, hence don’t have the understanding of what he really is, are stupid and are not worth worrying about; yet in this argument you declare a man is only worth what he projects into the world and that no understanding beyond visual perception is required to validate him as a real man. Which is it?
Also where were Martin Luther King Jr.'s Ferraris and Victoria’s Secret models? Was he validated by expensive cars and docile, unthinking, babes? Not saying this has anything to do with the argument really, just wondering.

Get you argument straight. I don’t KNOW the situation just like most people don’t KNOW the average bodybuilder who weighs over 250lbs. Therefore, I refuse to judge who he is and what he does outside of the one media outlet that I am aware of him through. That means yes, I can say he accomplished what he set out to do and claim he is successful based on that…just like some clueless sedentary person could look at the average huge bodybuilder, see their big muscles and strength and say the same…unless they choose to hate.
I am not trying to judge who he is on the inside. I am judging his status or success by what he clearly set out to do and whether he accomplished it. My statement above is to show that most people simply judge by what they see and yes, much of society stops there as far as getting to know someone they judge. I am not “most people”.

What? To even write this means you didn’t understand what was written before. Martin Luther King Jr. was successful in changing the minds of many. I can base what I judge of his success on that and nowhere did I write that success is only judged by what cars you have. He set out to change the world. He did. Mission Accomplished.

Stop it. Stop defending a person whose whole reason for celebrity was to make himself a polarizing figure to be judged. Do you think if he was not the least bit controversial he would have fame? He’s putting himself up to scrutiny, acting in a manner to invite it, profiting from it and you are surprised when people react in the manner that they wanted people to react? If you don’t approve, you’re a “hater”? LOL. If he doesn’t have “haters” as you put it, he has no fame.
Anyway, I respect what you wrote if that’s your opinion, but I don’t agree. If you measure your own and others worth by how your woman looks, your occupation, earnings and what you drive, that’s your right. We agree to disagree. Pretty meaningless existence if you ask me. Your wife will always be ugly to someone else. There will always be someone who makes more money. There will always be someone with a newer or nicer car. There will always be someone “more successful” if that’s how you measure success. Sounds like a treadmill to me.
But it does sound to me like you’re the hater by your own definition. I have seen you pass swooping judgments in these forums time and time again. In this thread, you have implied that people here haven’t succeeded or get laid as frequently as they would like. Is that not a judgment? Now you know from an online forum who has succeeded and who gets laid such that we should all envy the situation? LOL.

I’d have no problem accepting that if you actually did what you claim to, but you didn’t. Im not the one throwing a defensive diva bitch fit on the internet. I assure you I’m quite calm. I even ended the second question by saying I wasn’t trying to connect it with the first part, yet you didn’t seem to comprehend this and acted like it was a weak insult or something.
Like I said, you can’t seem to comprehend actual words and thoughts in the midst of one of these aforementioned diva bitch rages, so I’ll leave you alone, it’s clearly not the worth the time.
