The Pursuit of Mythical Gains

Nothing has changed, lol. Game is shaping up.

One month into the new job, things are going well. Bought a house across the street from the golf course, will be commuting to work in a golf cart, lol.

Depression is gone, attitude is great. Just spent a few days on LI for my son’s birthday, was great to see my kids. Hopefully things loosen up and I can get them to fly out here. Pretty sure they will love the new house (they’ll have their own bedrooms), hanging at the club, and will want to come back often.

Have gotten a bit soft during the fatdemic, need to get back to working out.

Peace.

Things are good. Not working out but playing a lot of golf. Moved into the new house a few days ago - 3200 SF, 5/4, was sleeping on a blow up bed but my stuff got delivered today so I get to sleep in my regular bed for the first time in three months.

Handicap is coming down - went 44-38 the other day, so getting better, but it’s so slow…

Peace brothers, appreciate the support.

Aight - have a garage. Need recommendations for a rack for squat, bench, and OHP. Recommendations for a bar, thinking Rogue, and weight set. And bench.

Thoughts?

I’m thinking a lot of gyms are going out of business, might buy used, might not.

Thanks!

Golf - getting better, slowly. 42-40 day before yesterday. Will re-enroll in the PGA program when things slow down.

Good times!

For a bar, a Texas power bar answers the mail well for an all purpose bar. You can still get them from texaspowerbars . com, but with a 6-8 week lead time apparently. If you wanna have an axle today, get to Home Depot and get a 2" Outer Diameter plumbing pipe cut to 7.5’ and wrap gorilla tape 16" from the ends to make collars. You can do anything with it while you wait for a bar.

For racks, I’ve been using a cheapo $300 NewYorkBarbells rack since 2008 and it hasn’t let me down. Nicer racks are nicer, but you don’t need much to get work done, and I can’t vouch for anything else. A yoke can make a great set of stands AND now you’ve got a yoke, so that’s cool.

Weights are a ā€œgood luckā€ sorta thing. That said, Ironmind still seems to have things in stock: you just gotta pay for it. You can get a 160kg solid rubber disk York set there (bar included) for $999.99+SH. I just checked out Titan and they are taking backorders on some bumper plates, but nothing available.

I got a line on a Marcy Squat Rack and bench, no luck on barbell and weights, but am pretty sure that will come.

Club is going well, racking up new members, selling events despite COVID - two events coming up of 250 peeps outdoors, live music for Labor Day weekend - 150 peeps on the pavilion with blues, Memphis barbecue and Tennessee based cocktails.

Life is good.

Covid, Frying Pandemic, guess I got a little skinny and out of shape.

I have been, of course, playing a lot of golf, but I did bodyweight squats, push ups, and crunches today and bros, I am way out of shape.

In the meantime, I play a shitload of golf and am down to a 7 handicap.

Life is good.

Still here. Enjoying the new gig, a lot of challenges with this pandemic. We have two restaurants, both closed, lol. Rocked, cocked, and ready to explode when we can get open.

Planning a garage gym, just waiting for supplies to get available and affordable.

Got down to a nine handicap this summer, after 16 years of not playing. Goal is a four next summer.

Cheers Bruhs!

Enough of the FryingPanDemic.

I’ve gotten gooey over the last year and it is time to do something about it, so I am going to start training again - just body weight to start, will be looking to get some home gym equipment or start working out at work - we are constructing a ā€œFitness Centerā€ which will not be hard core at all, but I think I have a ways to go before I need to add a power rack to my garage…if ever. At 57, my days of squatting wagon wheels may be over.

I’ve restarted TRT, will begin with air squats, push ups, and sit ups and go from there.

Starting point is 188 pounds at 19% body fat (Omron). I am aware of the limitations of measuring BF%, it’s just a guide for me.

Going to start with just trying to lean out. If that works, I’ll add in a hypertrophy program.

Truly hope I can make this happen - I miss being (somewhat) jacked.

My brother was born 59 years ago yesterday. I lost him 7/1/2001. Yes, I did look on top of the fridge.

I actually found him dead on his kitchen floor.

I am 184.6 at 17.5% bodyfat, basically doing nothing other than injecting 125mg of test cyp every week.

Oh, and playing golf - 86 yesterday, 82 today. Still early, I expect to get better.

Late.

Good to see you still around. I have certain days that hold a lot of memories and meaning to them too.

I really suck at golf though.

I appreciate you bruh, you are good peeps. I still struggle with the beers, but am off drugs. Hope to get back into the gym soon.

A struggle is a struggle.

Just don’t let the bastards win!

The bastards always win. The key is to make friends with the bastards.

Might as well fire this bitch up again.

Went to Betty Ford, got clean, have stayed clean. We have a small gym at The Club, I have been easing back into lifting there. Am tracking weight and body fat percentage. Currently 193 @18.5%. My goal is to get to 180-185 at 12-15% and stay there.

Am playing a lot of golf, which is good. Just need to walk instead of ride, weight should come off pretty quickly.
