End of cycle 1, exactly three weeks with all of the fits and starts. Gained about 4 pounds, BF went down this morning, down since the start, so good progress. I don’t like weighing 196 but I’m going to keep eating. Obviously restarting T and creatine played a role in the weight gain and should level out. If I can keep adding lean mass I’ll stick with what I’m doing. Actually going to try and gain some to fill out for summer - the opposite of a cut because I am in DYEL territory.
Switching to BBB with straight 531 tomorrow. Three more days of work then off for the summer. I should be able to hit the gym hard for the next six weeks and I’ll see what I can do body comp wise. I head to Santa Cruz in three weeks, stay for two weeks, have a gym scoped out there, and then to Portland for five days, have a gym there, so I should be good.
I figure at least two cycles of BBB should add some mass. Think I am going to do the alternate day thing, OHP 531 and BP for 5x10, etc… Will only do light DL’s.
Looking forward to getting big. Been skinny for too long. Hope all my numbers stay good - blood pressure and blood sugar.
But, I gots me some problems with gluten and dairy.
I saw something on oat milk, and it looked like milk. So I ordered me a blender and some nut milk bags (yes, that’s a thing) since I don’t like almond milk, and I mixed up some oat milk. And I bought me some gluten free Tates chocolate chip cookies - it’s a really good local brand, crispy and yummy.
I mixed up the oat milk and have it getting ice cold in the fridge and I can’t wait to try it.
Yes. I have been mixing oat milk in my coffee instead of dairy lately and …meh. I can’t really tell much difference between almond milk and this. But I’m a true dairy lover and not lactose intolerant.
So enjoy the cookies!
P.S. It should be called “oat juice”, since no titties were touched in its production…
First day of Summer Break. Went to bed early and woke up at 3:30, headed over to the commercial gym for the treadmill. Came home and showered and met the PE teacher at iHOP for breakfast. Came home, took a 45 minute power nap, then went and lifted. Felt very good to be fueled and lifting. I have almost three weeks to get in shape before I spend days and days on the beach, so it’s going to take a serious commitment to make noticeable changes. I’m going to eat well and not cut, so I actually expect to keep gaining during the next three weeks. Woke up at 198 this morning, heaviest I have been in a while. Again, mostly water, can still see outline of abs, so I’m okay with that.
I’m a total dairy slut and am not really lactose intolerant, I just try to avoid the mucous issue due to occasional apnea, the whole carbon footprint thing, and inflammation (anecdotal).
I don’t like almond milk in my coffee, actually prefer coconut milk. Interestingly enough, prefer almond milk on my cereal. Don’t like either with my cookies.
The oat milk was pretty good, easy to make, and cheap AF. Made a second batch last night but think I blended it too long, tasted a little more oaty than the first batch.
I’ve gone to drinking my coffee black - coconut milk in latte’s when I get all fancynshit. Not sure the oat milk will survive being steamed. Guess I will have to find out.
So, one of my son’s best friends got killed on Sunday, he was 12. Kind of a rough few days.
He’s been to grief counseling, which was just hangin wit da boyz, and is doing well.
Eighteen years ago today I found my brother dead on his kitchen floor.
First full day at the ashram. Checked in yesterday, got my tent up, hung by the pool. Food is all healthy n shit.
Went to yoga for ninety minutes today, vinyasa flow. Different from Kundalini so it was hard AF and I sweated like a pig.
Very peaceful here, very slow paced, a good place for me to be. I have my first volunteer shift in about an hour, working in the kitchen, shouldn’t be too tough.
He was pretty shook until he got to hang with his buddies.
After grief counseling the moms organized a pool and pizza party. Local church held a prayer vigil that night, and they’re back together today planning how best to memorialize Andrew at his wake - they’re putting together a photo montage and all of them are wearing white Titleist visors - Andrew’s trademark.
I think he’s got a pretty good support group around him.
Just got home from six days at the ashram, really cool experience.
If you told me three years ago that I would enjoy a week at an ashram I would have asked you “What the fuck is an ashram?”
As far as training, yoga everyday for ninety minutes, then working as a volunteer.
I think I am the only carnivore in history to go to an ashram and eat all vegan food for a week and gain weight. Weighed in at 200 pounds on arrival home, expect 197 in the AM.
Met a lot of cool people, not as weird as I thought it would be.
So, back to the gym tomorrow, try to get a little swole before I head to California in a few weeks. Going to see my kids tomorrow.
Connected with a gal, keeping in touch with her for now. She’s a little weird, like me, so who knows.
