The Problem w/ Curls in The Rack?

Wow. $1.50, I’ve never seen somebody do what your doing to such a huge extent. You start a thread, ask a question, and then go frickin’ apeshit whenever someone disagrees with you. The really pissed off responses against you aside, there have more MORE than enough intelligent arguments that show…

Naw. Ya know what? You’re not going to listen to anything that I or anyone else says unless they agree with you. So have fun curling more than you deadlift, and let me know how that wheelchair works for you when your fifty and your lower back doesn’t work.

Just when I was starting to think that this thread wasn’t funny anymore.

TO Buckeye girl, Like i said i was going to make a thread about how bosu balls can be benefitial(because i see so many articles bashing bosu ball training and power rack curls) Your response is that it keeps “people busy while the rest of us train” Well you smart little girl, if thats the case then how come phil pfister ( worlds strongest man) uses it in his training? Point proven people should do what they want and how they want…OWNED
$1.50, or whomever you are,
You really got me there. You obviously spend way more time studying pro’s workouts than I do. Perhaps I should spend less time in the gym squatting and more time studying other’s training.

Phil Pfister also weighs over 300 pounds. You better watch out, that bosu ball might make you all bulky and huge.

It’s interesting that you call me “little girl” when I weigh about 15 pounds less than you…Oh thats right, we already went over this, all those SRCs got you up to 180 now.

Oh, and the “fact” that Phil Pfister uses a bosu ball proves nothing other than that Phil Pfister trains with a bosu ball sometimes.

That doesn’t prove that people should do what they want, how they want.

But don’t you see, since Pfister won the WSM and uses a swiss/bosu ball it now becomes the only acceptable method and must be used by everyone. The decades of winners who went before him knew nothing. JP Sigmarsson ? Kaz? Pud? Who are those guys anyway… The IFSA guys are completley missing out too. Savickas could be REALLY good if he used an inflatable ball ya know?

Does anyone even know the exact purpose of the Bosu Ball in Pfister’s training? My money is on some kind of prehab, rehab work, or he’s using it to work around some particular trouble spot he has. I don’t think most world class athlete’s just throw something into their programs for shits and giggles. There’s an exact purpose in that Bosu Ball, one that 80% of trainees probably need to concern themselves with.

This argument isn’t about saving time in the gym. If you guys really cared so much about time, you wouldn’t have wasted 5+ pages in this thread and countless others in the squat rack curls thread.
The time I have at home is different from the time at the gym.

Reading threads and posting while eating for 15 minutes is different than having to interrupt your training for 15 minutes because someone is blocking the rack doing curls.

If people are doing curls in the squat rack then you are in the wrong kind of gym. Its just common knowledge in my gym not to do that. this was the first time i read this thread so im going to comment on something else to ive never seen a big 150 pound person or even a big 200 pound person maybe cut but not big

I went to the gym for a quickie after church this morning. Sundays are good days; hardly anyone ever there, so you don’t have to compete for equipment.

Usually, anyway. As I was finishing up my squats, I noticed a guy behind me waiting for the rack, so I hurried up and finished my last set, so as not to hold him up any longer than necessary.

Sure enough, as soon as I step aside, he strips down the bar and starts rocking out the curls. The guy actually waited for the rack in lieu if grabbing one of the half dozen bars littering the floor.

do all of u people go to commercial gym’s i allways found personally owned gyms to be better. as long as the gym owner likes you

every time God sees someone doing squat rack curls, he pulls the wings off an angel

Putting the disks on the bar while it is on the floor can be a pain in the ass depending on how agreeable the bar is. It’s the most annoying part of deadlifting. Sometimes I end up having to fight with the disks so much that I think it pre fatigues me.

Free tip: put 2 1/2 pound plates under the innermost 45’s and then you can easily slide more plates on for deadlifting.

lightbulb goes on! This is the greatest idea since sliced whole wheat bread.

What was the greatest idea before sliced whole wheat bread?
