I mean should we ignore Lou Ferrigno because Arnold beat him? Or Columbu since he was in Arnold’s shadow basically his whole career?
Personally the reason I dismiss him is because I hate his loud personality. Doesn’t that mean I wouldn’t be able to possibly learn something no just means I can listen long enough for that to happen. I’d rather learn from others who convey the same information but in a better more well thought out manner. Personal preference. And since I feel I need to spell everything out so I don’t get called out for hating on him…I respect what he has accomplished. He is a beast as I have said multiple times
If you don’t like Kali and don’t want to listen that 100% fine.

All I did was ask that other guy who if not Kali. That’s all I did. How all this other BS happened is a mystery to me.
To the above post I agree its individual.

No idea who others like to listen to but for me. You need to have worked hard and accomplished a lot and be able,to speak coherently and back up why you did what you did. Some scientific stuff helps just because I think that’s fun.
I have learned a great deal from guys who you might think didn’t speak “coherently” enough for you.

Bodybuilding isn’t just about who makes the best presentation or class experience.

Anyone who thinks Kali in his current state is natural, please return to bodybuilding.com forums.
Natural is a legal clause. Its an inevitable question anytime a bodybuilder is present around non bodybuilders.
Every pro does it period. Every seasoned gym rat know and respect the insider knowledge and don’t expect to gain 40 lbs of muscles on creatine!
People get caught up in witch hunts like the general public.
If Ronnie, Branch, Lobliner, Yates, and Levrone were on steroids, that’ll be exciting!

LOUD NOISEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES

Really? Who should then?
What positives does he bring to the table that all the other PRO bbers + other information sources don’t already deliver in a better way?
I asked who? I didn’t agree or disagree I asked who should T-Nation give there attention too.

As for an answer to your question. I think success leaves clues and I think failure leaves clues. I’m sure every single person here could learn something from Kali.
Perhaps, but I haven’t seen one video in which the guy says anything of any consequence on training or nutrition. But then again , you have a point because so few do anyway these days. And who can blame the makers of these videos. Other than information for noobs, there’s nothing else to say these days. Supplements don’t deliver magic. Getting big involves eating enough protein and calories. Cutting down requires more activity and caloric restriction. In a nutshell, there’s nothing left to say; hence we see You Tube circle jerks and other shenanigans involving calling out liars (natty vs. drug aided), and discussing training and eating as if they are as sophisticated as Talmud interpretation or physics and guys making videos of daily activities such as walking around a grocery store or eating food in a kitchen.
Ya, I’m not quite as cynical, but I pretty much agree. We aren’t reinventing the wheel here folks.
But it still doesn’t answer the question…

If everything has been said and done…why is it seen as useless to discuss this lifter at all?
I don’t think it’s useless. I think everyone can learn something from him. Just like you could learn something from Stu, Stu could learn something from you, and I could learn something from both of you.

We all have at least 1 thing to offer.
Hey, I agree…so why do we have so many here who seem to be here just to make fun of these guys and ignore their training or what they have to say?
Your guess is as good as mine. Probably because it’s the internet.
Boredom

I’m bored, yet watching people feel compelled to build a quote of a quote of a quote of a quote wall, gets even more tedious and boring. Delete everything but what you are directly addressing, I figured people were would be smart enough to figure out what the {quote} and {/quote} was for.

Even more boring is pages upon pages of senseless debating that seems to go nowhere because the debating is over minute words and phrases and not the entire topic at hand. Talk about boring.

I find generally it’s because communication on the internet is based on sarcasm and snarkiness. Almost every post someone makes contains some barb thrown in purely for the intent to either insult or aggravate the person they are speaking to. Conversations are viewed as a battle, where “victory” is achieved by saying the most insulting thing to or about the other side.

I’ve been guilty of it as well. These days, I do my best to knock it off. If I find myself writing a post that’s only purpose is to be caustic, I just delete it and close the window.
I suppose that’s true.

That is all fine and well.

However, most of the really big guys will tell you, it has never been about some new “revelation” or some new technique.

What you should be looking to these guys for is the work ethic it took for them to get there…and in that, you can learn something from every really big guy out there.

Ignoring that and discounting the value of that will only hurt yourself in the longrun…and anyone else who really thinks they are that much above other people based on how well they speak or whatever.

That’s just the truth.

And it still doesn’t explain why we aren’t allowed to discuss guys like this here without the nonsense, insults and jokes.

I think guys just get frustrated when huge guys (most likely on gear) go out of their way to proclaim “natty” status … It’s almost like -we KNOW you are running, and really don’t care, just don’t lie to us- because then we are forced to call bullshit

You don’t see threads here bashing every pro bodybuilder, and we know they are taking the kitchen sink and then some … It’s when it’s thrown in our collective faces that guys get pissed, rightly or wrongly. No one likes getting intentionally lied to.

Should that take away from his work ethic, how hard he trains, his diet? No - anyone on here with any common sense knows the drugs themselves aren’t the only reason the guy is huge. He obviously trains hard, consistently, has his diet in order, and has damn good genetics as well. Just make your videos and shut
up about drugs - no one will care.

I do not understand “don’t lie to us”. This man has no responsibility to anyone but himself.

Those people turning every single thread into this are likely not the people you would see in the gym and think “hardcore”.

I agree with you. I dont like when these guys just blatanlty lie about it. Just plead the fifth and move on. They do more to hurt the image of bodybuilding when you have a guy that size claim he is natty to the general public.

Guess im not ‘hardcore’ shucks…

Really the issue is that they do harm to the general PR of the ‘sport’ or ‘lifestyle’ when they do this. Just keep quiet and move on. Barry Bonds is hated, not because he allegedly used, but the public perception that he lied and cheated, same with Lance. In a ‘lifestyle’ or ‘sport’ like this being untested and steroids welcome, there is nobody to ‘cheat’ so nobody really cares as much except for the skinny couch potatoes that are looking just to discredit accomplishments, that cant be helped. But the general gym and lifting public, they just dont want to be told their are dumb, which is what guys like Kali claiming ‘Natty’ status are doing.

To be fair, at least Kali didn’t say “if I was taking steroids and this is how I looked I would be pissed/disappointed/quit lifting altogether”

Lol at “hardcore”, being a fat cunt with no mobility must be mega hardcore.
Waittz wrote:

That’s bs. The general public sees steroid use as illegal and generally “bad”, and already thinks every big guy is on them.

All this does is give more people with that mindset more ammo to hurl insults. If it was so accepted and common knowledge no one would be getting personally emotional because someone like Kali does this. This can’t possibly harm pr if everyone already believes everyone is on illegal substances.

Pr was fucked to start. … and this just gives an outlet for insults.

I didn’t say it was a totally justified reaction … And personally I don’t give a shit either way … But I can understand why people react the way they do.

Again, no one likes to be looked in the face (figuratively) and lied to. Waitz gave great examples in Bonds and Armstrong … It’s not the act, it’s the defiant proclamations of “innocence” … The lying

I’ll even go so far as to say that if you make your living off your body, I don’t care WTF you put into it - do what you have to do. But to then market what you are as legit and real and say you are just better than everyone because you are so much more “hardcore” is disingenuous. Just STFU about it and do your thing.

Sorry to beat the horse again SW …

Just throw up another picture of your lat spread, that’ll shut him up!
