How do you load them? I find it becomes too unstable past 3 plates.

I don’t. I do them high rep and supersetted

Dammit was hoping for some clever idea.
-crossfitters are one of the few types of people that can drive me to an uncontrollable rage
-the whole body building vs powerlifting thing that happens once in awhile around here bothers me
-I used to think that if someone wasn’t really big or really strong they weren’t worth listening to. However, I feel that can be an ignorant statement at times. Yes in the gym it makes sense most of the time, but for coaches I tend to find that some (Mike Boyle for example), can be very knowledgable without looking jacked
I have always wanted to see 100 small people fight a grizzly bear.

Sorry man. I like them that way. Feel my triceps much better. And yes they are a cluster fuck to try and load. I like them much more for a tricep exercise than normal dips

I completely agree on this. I keep them light and high rep myself. See better results for myself that way.
Bench dips - sorry cant help either - one plate, slower and more reps
One thing thatll get flamed is suggesting bbers that die young is related to steroids. Sure the diuretics and painkillers are worst but years on aas with high bp and bad ldl is a big factor I strongly suspect
I believe <1% of the TNation populace actually knows how to recommend anything for an individual other than what has personally worked for them.
Honestly, how much advice starts with “Well I did such and such and had great results!..”

I think thats generally true and morover I think that people often attribute their gains to one thing when it really was lots of things, some having greater impact than the thing they believed worked

Gotta start somehwere but know to adapt when it doesn’t work right? How many trainers know exactly what will work for a trainee right off the bat? But agreed many are stuck in ruts and won’t even change their own shit when it isn’t working or they aren’t progressing

Not flaming I promise haha. I was just going to say that in general recommending what worked for you personally is probably the best thing to do. Unless you’re a seasoned trainer you won’t know what will work for someone else, but everyone should have a pretty good idea of what worked for them. Brandon Lilly just put out a great video on how to find what works best for you by finding other people with similarities to yourself and then trying what worked for them.
So I guess I put the onus on the consumer to wade through the advice and examples of tons of different people and experiment with using the suggestions of those most similar to themselves in whatever area they are looking to improve upon.

Exactly. Some things wont work for everyone, but many things will work for many people. If one guy got really big doing something, there’s probably a good chance i can too.
I don’t mean to appear as cocky, but I’m totally game to fight a 12,000 lb African Elephant. I mean think about this logically, if I can press a 170 lb dumbbell over my head with one arm, snatch 225, and carry well over 250 lbs in each hand, then I’d have very little trouble with an African Elephant. If he lunged at me, I’d simply catch him like I do sandbags in training, and slam him to the ground.
If he got up for more beatings, I’d simply clean him, and press him over my head with one arm and return him to the ground where he lay defenseless followed by his emphatic death, via blow to the head from my fists backed up by all of my tricep power.

It wasn’t my diet. It was hers.
Your example has nothing to do with my claim btw. A proper counter example would be if I gave her same diet and training template I was using to cut fat.

I never said it was a bad thing, just that vast majority don’t know what to do when they’re thrown a curve ball.

That’s exactly what I was getting at.
Poster A wants help to achieve X.
Poster B did Y to achieve X and recommends it to A.
A does Y, but does not achieve X.
Poster B: “oh well, you must not be doing it right, brah!”
lol
