Oh wait what, thought this was the movies thread…
Nolan has serious balls for making films like Interstellar and Dunkirk.
But the best trick he has up his sleeve is that he can actually write a good narrative and is also a good director.
I think his movies work because he has genuine respect for the audience. He is willing to, for example, “dumb down” stuff in Interstellar when it’s not reasonable to expect the average person to have much knowledge of the science involved, yet he does not shy away from creating a complex narrative structure that requires a lot of thinking when a movie requires it.
Shit… Fuck… Shitfuck!
That was my favourite line from that movie.
Nope, not seen that Dracula movie but it satisfies my Rutger Hauer criteria so no doubt I’ll enjoy it
I’m dating a stripper. ![]()
Bro, you NEVER date the strippers.
Test is hitting harder than you thought, huh?
I can still watch the original Highlander movie, any place, any time and be thoroughly entertained.
S
I have. 15 years later we still communicate via email.
Taking her to see Theory of a Deadman concert next weekend.
I’m just waiting for them to play this song.
Same here!! Highlander 2 on the other hand I hate with a passion since it took a complete dump on the whole first movie… Id rather rub my scrotum against a cactus than watch the sequel ever again.
Some of the movies I’ve seen a thousand times, yet will still watch every time I come across them while channel-surfing. In no particular order:
Highlander
The Matrix (just the first one)
Goodfellas (I’ve watched it so many times, my wife says I’m “gay for it”)
The Chronicles of Riddick and its sequel, Riddick
Gangs of New York
The Outlaw Josey Wales
The Terminator
Rocky, Rocky 3, Rocky 4
The Godfather
There are many more.
Man I don’t know… Rocky 2’s my favourite by far
The hell you say. Wait. Define “date”
Decided to take the day off and drink and watch football today. In between sets of drinks, I’ve been running to the garage to do pull-ups. I’ve done 9 sets so far, the arm and back pump is insane.
Our wrestling coach used to tell us if we’re going to waste time watching football we had to do either a pushup, situp, or bw squat for every yard the offenses got in the game as the offenses got them. We had to split them up even so a 10 yd run meant 3 pushups, 3 situps, 4 squats.
Both good, but I preferred Pitch Black.
Same.
Lmao I saw that on the TV guide the other day. I assumed it was a dancing singing movie and very quickly decided to watch something else ![]()
I begrudgingly watched it with my wife a while back, and it was actually quite enjoyable. I may or may not have watched it more than once…
